Karen Civil talks to Ab-Soul & ScHoolboy Q about the Black Hippy album and more.
Last night, TDE’s Ab-Soul headlined his first show in Los Angeles. The Key Club on Sunset was beyond packed for the Black Hippy member and everyone in the crowd sang along to favorites off his latest project, Control System. Soulo did bring out a few special guests, ScHoolboy Q, Jay Rock and Jhene Aiko (even Kendrick Lamar called in to wish him a happy show), but track that received the best energy had to be “Pineal Gland.” Watch the Black Lip Bastard perform “Pineal Gland” in the video above and hit the jump for the surprise guests.

Ab-Soul, one-fourth of Black Hippy, is gearing up to drop his new project Control System, May 11th, and while we’re waiting for the release, he delivers a mind f*ck with his latest visual, “Pineal Gland.” The track, produced by Tae Beast & MixedByAli, is titled after a gland in your brain that let’s you explore the supernatural when properly induced. It’s also known as the third eye or iii. I hope your catching my drift. Listen and watch the west coast emcee guide you through the trip. If you can, listen to the track with the some good headphones on. Trust me.
