Meek Mill has been a soldier for prison reform, and has joined forces with Billionaires like JAY-Z, Micheal Rubin, and Robert Kraft to advocate for the rehabilitation of the criminal justice system.
It is no secret that Meek has been victimized by the system since he was a teenager, so it is only right that he released his latest single “Otherside of America,” which touches on those matters.
Meek makes it clear that he is no stranger to the institutionalized racism, and even uses his CNN interview to prove his point stating:
MEEK: “We grew up in ruthless environments. We grew up around murder. You see murder seven days a week , if you grew up in my neighborhood, you see seven people die a week, I think you would probably carry a gun yourself. Would you?”
CNN anchor Michael Smerconish: “Yeah. I probably would.”
