We may finally be getting one of the most anticipated albums in Lil Wayne’s ‘Tha Carter V’.
About seven years from the day Weezy dropped ‘Tha Carter IV’, it appears that the follow-up may be dropping later this month. The official Young Money Twitter account tweeted the cover art for the upcoming album, which fueled the release date of September 21.

Floyd Mayweather posted a “V” on his Instagram with the goat emoji and “#21,” which prompted the speculation of the September 21st release date. The post has been deleted by Floyd, but we’ve seen this before, as athletes like Kobe Bryant helped tease and hype for ‘Tha Carter V’ when it was first announced in 2014.
The ongoing legal battle between Wayne and Birdman over royalties has delayed the release of ‘C5’. Back in 2015 Weezy sued Cash Money for $51-million and demanded he be released from his contract. There has been a lot of back-and-forth since then, but in June both Weezy and Baby reach a settlement.
Last month they publicly squashed the beef at Lil Weezyana Fest in New Orleans, where Baby issued an apology saying, “I knew this day was gon’ come, but I didn’t know when it was gon’ come, but this ni**a right here, the best ni**a, the realest ni**a, the illest ni**a. And I wanted to apologize to my ni**a worldwide.”
