Netflix has made itself part of the culture by aligning with hip-hop acts and putting out series surrounding the culture. Last year it was reported that the streaming service was working on a hip-hop film that would star Wiz Khalifa, KYLE, French Montana, and more.
The film has officially been announced and it will be titled “The After Party.” It will be made available worldwide on August 24th and according to the press release it is about an aspiring rapper that goes viral for the wrong reasons and finds his career in limbo. Check out the full description below.
“When an aspiring rapper goes viral for all the wrong reasons, he thinks his career is over. But when his best friend gets them into a wild NYC after party, he gets one more chance to make the impossible happen,” says the synopsis on the press release.
