The list is headlined by MadeinTYO, Cali’s very own, Kamaiyah and KYLE, New York’s A Boogie, Philly’s PnB Rock, Atlanta’s Kap G and Playboi Carti as the standouts and names that were expected to land on the list. Anime, Ugly God, and XXXtentaction, who was the 10th pick.
As for snubs, I believe Nav, 6lack, JID, Russ, and Caleborate were names that should’ve been recognized given their consistency and body of work.
Last year’s Freshman included Anderson .Paak, Lil Yachty, Dave East, Lil Dicky, Lil Uzi Vert, 21 Savage, Kodak Black, Denzel Curry, and G Herbo.
