According to TMZ, Toronto rapper Tory Lanez has been arrested in South Florida by the Miramar Police Department early this morning. The report states that Lanez was driving a 2014 Rolls-Royce when he was pulled over for expired tags. Tory was also reportedly driving without a drivers license.
Law Enforcement officials told WPLG Local 10 News that they were alerted by the smell of marijuana which came from the 2014 Rolls-Royce. Upon searching the veihicle they discovered less than 20 grams of marijuana in the glove compartment and a loaded gun in the center console.
The Toronto singer/rapper is being charged with illegally carrying a concealed weapon, possession of marijuana, driving without a license, failure to register the vehicle, and driving without insurance. The weapons charge is the most troubling as it is a felony, while the others are misdemeanor traffic charges. Lanez was released after posting a $1,000 bond according to TMZ.
Swaevy is expected to perform at Coachella this weekend, before joining Future’s “Nobody Safe Tour,” so the timing couldn’t be worst.
