New York rapper Young M.A. has taken the industry by storm with her single “Ooouuu.” Earlier today she made her television debut with a performance of “Ooouuu” on “The Wendy Williams Show.”
Following the performance, M.A. talked about different topics like fans thinking she’s a man based on her voice, turning down a role on “Empire,” and more.
Wendy told M.A. it wasn’t unusual for listeners to think she was a man and asked her how she responds to it. “I am very aggressive. I get it. It’s cool. It’s just part of the game. You got a lot of people that criticize you, but I get so much love, I don’t pay attention to the negativity,” responded M.A.
M.A. also talked about turning down a role on “Empire” as “Freda Gatz” because she wanted to focus on her career, saying, “I definitely turned it down because Young M.A. wasn’t developed yet.” Making focusing on her career the sole reason for turning the part down.
