Former Indie Pick of the Week, Caleborate drops his ‘1993’ project titled after his birth year, a day after his 23rd birthday.
The bald-headed, skinny jean-wearing Bay Area native drops solid bars over solid beats. This project is very similar to his prior work in being concrete and easy-listening.
“The music on 1993 is reflective of the kind of music and the TV shows I watched growing up. I distinctly remember the blending of the two worlds–I was watching Family Matters on TV, but also Buzzfeed videos on my phone,” said Caleborate about his new project. “The lyrical content is reflective of where I am in my life as a young adult. I’m talking about stuff that other 22- and 23-year-old people are going through.”
Listen to ‘1993’ in its entirety below. The album is meant to be listened to in order from 1 to 14 as it follows a storyline.
