Iamsu! was in New York recently, promoting his new album, KILT 3, which dropped as a surprise in mid-March after months of teasing on ‘Su’s part. Suzy Sixspeed brought some of his HeartBreak Gang compadres along for the ride, and fans weren’t disappointed.
Despite having just dropped a 12-song effort, Su was down to bring more heat when he stopped by our studio. He recorded a new joint over production from our Behind the Beat alum Ricky Racks, with co-production from D Shine. Skittering hi-hats and synth-heavy production is littered with spurts of bass, while Su lays on some auto-tune for the hook. It’s definitely a bit more trap-derived than Su’s typical sound, which would usually fall in line with his Richmond, CA upbringing.
