California-born, Bed Stuy-raised femcee, SIYA is on a mission to be heard and recognized for her music, not her sexuality. The openly lesbian rapper was hand-selected by rapper T.I. to appear on Oxygen’s Sisterhood Of HipHop reality series, for her bars and intriguing background.
Often referred to as the “Female Biggie,” SIYA is preparing her second studio album with the support of her mentor, R&B singer, Tank and his label, Sound Base Ent. The album is due out before the end of the year and features singles, “Real MVP” and “One Hunnid.”
“Real MVP” is an ode to females all over the world who only deserve the best and can do it with or without someone’s help — “you deserve some trophies in your life baby.”
