Video: Dom Kennedy Discusses Trends In Hip-Hop and “Thirsty” LA Girls

I added the “thirsty” description above, because those are the LA girls I believe he’s is referencing, and I wanted to make sure to clarify that. Cause I know for sure that this LA girl (points to myself) has a solid career, a side-hustle, a better credit score, 401k, and health benefits than you. We clear? *snap, snap*

Dom Kennedy sits down with iHipHop.com to discuss becoming a perennial artists as opposed to a “buzz artist”, trends in hip-hop, and how girls in LA need to get their priorities in order.

Video: Frank Ocean – Songs For Women (Unofficial/Fan-made)

This isn’t an official video, but rather one made by fan Aris Jerome… A nice visual treatment nonetheless. (Especially for the gentlemen)

Video: MTV News x Black Hippy

MTV News continues the New West Week and highlights L.A. rap group Black Hippy, comprised of Jay Rock, Kendrick Lamar, Ab-Soul and ScHoolboy Q.

“A lot of people will be like, ‘You good now, Dre messing with you,’ ” Kendrick said. “No, we’re not good now. We’ve got to go 10 times harder. Just because that man is further in his career doesn’t mean he could say one word and further my career right that instant. I’ve got to have the music to back it up and prove myself still.”

I’m definitely feeling that hard work ethic. Sidenote: I just read that J. Cole is producing about 90 percent of his and Kendrick’s upcoming project. Cole’s beats are smooth. Can’t wait to hear that.
