Justin Credible’s Album Spotlight: Wale – The Album About Nothing

unnamed

The Album About Nothing is arguably Wale’s best album yet. We’ve seen Wale go through his ups and downs in this industry over the past year but it seems like he took all of that energy and poured it into this album right here. I really love the way this album is put together.

First off the thing that was noticeable as I hit play was the heavy influence that Jerry Seinfeld was going to have on this album. There’s original dialogue used on certain intros of songs. There’s also the use of old Jerry Seinfeld audio from the show that relates to a certain song off the album.

A song that I really LOVE is called “The White Shoes”. Wale is lyrically sharp on it and it’s an uplifting song that is done in true Wale form. Another song that caught my attention is “The Need To Know”. Of course, a Seinfeld sound bite intro’s the song speaking about a being just friends with someone. Then as the song starts to come in SZA starts humming the melody to Musiq Soulchild’s “Just Friends” throughout the song. She also sings a piece of the hook from the original song and flips it her way. I must say it was well done.

Wale didn’t have many features on this album and that’s a good thing because the album didn’t need much assistance. The artists he does have are well chosen and fit each song respectively. The album features Jeremih, J. Cole, Usher, and TDE’s own SZA. The song “The Pessimist” which features Cole is another one I really enjoyed.

Sonically, this album is pretty damn good. The album features production from Dj Dahi, Sounds, Jake One, and others.

Wale has always been the artist to be conscious about everything going on around him whether its good or bad. That never stopped Wale from chasing his creative vision though. I respect that about him. He made this album the way he wanted and on his terms. So far, it’s paying off and the people are really grasping Wale’s vision.

Wale really puts out effort into his music and ALWAYS makes a stamp in this game!

Make sure you support and grab Wale’s “Album About Nothing”.
