The 59th Annual Grammy Awards show was live from the STAPLES Center in Los Angeles last night and it turned out to be an EPIC night for the Urban music community.

Chance The Rapper made history by taking home his first GRAMMY for “Best Rap Album” and becoming the first artist ever win the award with a stream-only album. In addition to “Best Rap Album,” Chance also won “Best New Artist” and “Best Rap Performance” for his ‘Coloring Book’ single “No Problem” featuring 2 Chainz and Lil Wayne.

Chance shared a text from Drake, who’s on tour in Manchester, congratulating him on the wins and Lil Wayne sent out a tweet thanking Chance, Chainz, and the fans for his 5th Grammy award.

As for Drake, he nabbed his second and third GRAMMYs for “Best Rap Song” and “Best Rap/Sung Performance” trophies for his highly-praised single “Hotline Bling.” Drizzy followed his wins with a petty Instagram post that read, “Me and my chain are just here to collect the trophies for Work and Anti…howbowdah.” Many thought it was a shot at Rihanna, who didn’t win any awards.

Lalah Hathaway’s won Best R&B Album for ‘Lalah Hathaway Live’, while her song “Angel” notched the victory for “Best Traditional R&B Performance.” Other winners included Maxwell, who won “Best R&B song” for “Lake By the Ocean” and Beyoncé’s little sister, Solange won “Best R&B Performance for “Cranes in the Sky.”

Beyoncé took home two GRAMMYs, one for “Best Music Video” and “Best Urban Contemporary Album.” For Beyoncé, it wasn’t about the two awards she won and more about the big one she didn’t win being, “Album of the Year.”

Adele, who won the award made a graceful speech about Beyoncé and her work on “Lemonade,” saying she thinks it should’ve won the award over ’25’.

Rihanna Will Appear In A&E Series “Bates Motel” [PEEP]

Per usual Rihanna has been slaying at everything she does.

From the music she makes to modeling to philanthropy to owning Azealia Banks on social media to acting, she’s definitely winning at all aspects of life and thriving at everything she does.

After photos of her on the set of the upcoming film “Ocean’s 8” surfaced, RihRih has also been spotted in the new trailer for the final season of the freaky A&E series, “Bates Motel.” In the trailer Rih appears to be soaked from the rain and trying to get a room in the spooky motel.

The role Rih will be playing is Marion Crane, who’s role was played in Alfred Hitchcock’s movie “Psycho” by Janet Leigh. Marion Crane is a convict whom is on the run from the police after she stole her boss’ money. In the movie she is eventually killed.

There have been several reports statin that Rihanna will appear in “multiple” episodes, although it is to be seen how many “multiple” is. Either way I’m pretty excited about seeing Rihanna make the roll hers. I’m sure she’s gonna slay that too.

“Bates Motel” will be back on air for its final season beginning Monday, February 20th at 10 pm EST on A&E. Don’t miss out.

Rihanna and Prince Harry Raise Awarness For World AIDS Day

Rihanna and Prince Harry both celebrated Barbados’ 50 years of independence from British rule. Rihanna joined the Toast of the Nation and performed at an evening concert.
This celebration represented a huge privilege for Britain’s Prince Harry. “I am honored to be here representing my grandmother, as we celebrate the historic milestone of 50 years of independence of this beautiful nation. Her Majesty visited your beautiful country on the eve of independence in early 1966. The people of Barbados have held a special place in her heart ever since,” said Prince Harry in an interview.
One day after the event, Riri and Prince Harry met and together they raised awareness and encouraged people around the world to get HIV tested, by doing so themselves, on World AIDS Day.

Béyonce, Kanye West, Chance The Rapper, Frank Ocean, and Young Thug all finished in the top 10 of Rolling Stone’s 50 Best Albums of 2016.

Queen Béy lead the way with her highly-acclaimed ‘LEMONADE’ topping the list. The platinum-selling album’s placement came to no surprise to some, after its worldwide popularity and countless awards and accolades.

“Beyoncé shut everyone else down this year with a soul-on-fire masterpiece, testifying about love, rage and betrayal that felt all too true in the America of 2016,” wrote the magazine. “The queen not only made the album of the year (and make no mistake, David Bowie would have been the first to say so), she delivered a confessional, genre-devouring suite that feels larger than life yet still heartbreakingly intimate, because it doubles as her portrait of a nation in flames.”

Chance The Rapper, Frank Ocean, and Young Thug all followed Béyonce in the top 10 for their albums ‘Coloring Book’, ‘Blonde’, and ‘Jefferey’, respectively. Both Chance and Franky Ocean have received high praise for the continuous success of their projects while being indepedent.

Drake’s ‘Views’ finished 42nd after ‘If You’re Reading This, It’s Too Late’ placed third last year, behind Kendrick Lamar’s ‘To Pimp a Butterfly’ and Adele’s ’25’.

Other hip-hop notables include: Danny Brown’s ‘Atrocity Exhibition’ (19th), Rihanna’s ‘ANTI’ (25th), A Tribe Called Quest’s ‘We Got it From Here…Thank You 4 Your Service’ (30th), Alicia Keys’ ‘HERE’ (32nd), Maxwell’s ‘blackSUMMERS’night’ (40th), and Future’s ‘Evol’ (43rd).

Rihanna Will Be Honored “Shoe Of The Year” Award

Rihanna’s FENTY PUMA collaboration seems to be a huge success. This year, Footwear News will honor the singer with the 2016 Shoe of the Year for her Creeper sneakers. The event will take place at IAC Headquarter in New York City, on November 29.
Rihanna is more than excited to win this reward. “In my wildest dreams, I never would have imagined an honor like ‘Shoe of the Year,” said the artist. “It means so much to me to make a mark like this in the shoe and sneaker industry and to have so many people share my love for the Creeper.”
Shoe of the Year is based on “retail sales, consumer feedback, social media prowess and overall buzz.” Last year, Kanye West managed to achieve the award with his Yeezy Boost 350.

When it comes to musical awards Rihanna is no stranger. The recipient of eight GRAMMY awards, can now add a fashion award to her trophy case, as she will be awarded with the 2016 “Shoe of the Year” by Footwear News.

The “Shoe of the Year” award is based on “retail sales, consumer feedback, social media prowess and overall buzz.”

“In my wildest dreams, I never would have imagined an honor like “Shoe of the Year,” she said. “It means so much to me to make a mark line like this in the shoe and sneaker industry and to have so many people share my love for the Creeper.”

Previous recipients for the award include last year’s awardee, Kanye West for his Yeezy Boost 350 and Stan Smith for his ADIDAS collaboration.

Rihanna has been instrumental in reviving the PUMA brand, after brands like NIKE, Air Jordan, and ADIDAS were taking over the game with entertainers and athletes on their roster. Rih’s worldwide influence has been proven through the sale of the Creeper shoe.

The 30th Footwear News Achievement Awards will be hosted at the IAC Headquarters in New York City on November 29th.

Congrats, Rih!

Drake Presents Rihanna With 2016 Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award At VMAs [VIDEO]

Following Rihanna’s final performance, Drake surprised the crowd as he made his way to the stage to present Rihanna with the 2016 Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award.

Drake went in on how he met Rih in 2005 and how big of a star she is and how even though she is older than her, he still very much looks up to her.

The chemistry on the stage was as natural as its ever been with the two sharing a kiss and Drake professing his love by saying, “she is someone I have been in love with since I was 22-years-old.”

In my opinion nobody would’ve been better two present the award than Drizzy. These two are arguably the two biggest stars in the world at the moment.

Past recipients for the award include Michael Jackson, Beyonce, Kanye West, Justin Timberlake, LL Cool J, David Bowie to name a few.

What an accomplishment, but well deserved! Congrats, RihRih.

Last week we shared a picture on our Twitter of a billboard Drake bought Rihanna to Congratulate her on the accomplishment.
