Dr. Dre Hints At Potential ‘Detox’ Album Release [PEEP]

While stopping by the Golden State Warriors practice facility on Tuesday, Dr. Dre spoke to ESPN’s Chris Haynes for a brief interview, where he disclosed some information regarding his long-awaited ‘Detox’ album.

Haynes got straight to the point when speaking to Dre and asked him about the mythical album. Wasting no time, Haynes asked the legendary rapper/producer if ‘Detox’  was permanently shelved and Dre responded by saying, “I’m working on a couple songs right now. We’ll see.”

Check out the original tweet below.

Dre’s ‘Detox’ album has been rumored since the early 2000s and announced around 2002. From there fuel has continusiouly been added to the fire as pictures of Dre in the studio have surfaced. Drake, Eminem, Jay-Z, 50 Cent, Snoop Dogg, Nas, Lil Wayne, Eve, Akon, Alicia Keys, and others have been rumored to have contributed on the album.

Following the rumors Dre released “I Need A Doctor” featuring Eminem and Skylar Grey and “Kush” featuring Snoop Dogg and Akon, which were believed to be part of the ‘Detox’ roll out. The Doctor eventually came out and said he was scraping the album and dropped ‘Compton: The Soundtrack’ back in 2015 instead.

This is the biggest development on the ‘Detox’ front since Dre said he shelved it for good in 2015. Let’s see if we finally get the album this year. Stay tuned for updates.

Travis Scott & Quavo Perform “Eye 2 Eye” On “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” [WATCH]

Not many projects released in the last few months have been sounding off like Travis Scott and Quavo’s collaborative ‘Huncho Jack, Jack Huncho’ tape. To celebrate the success the duo went on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” to perform their single “Eye 2 Eye,” along with Takeoff, who is featured on the song.

Scott and Quavo brought the intensity with a lit stage that included a desert setting, draped with giant digital cactuses, crows, and more. During the set a live alligator appeared and made its presence as the performance carried on. La Flame then faced the gator and went “Eye 2 Eye” with it.

‘Huncho Jack, Jack Huncho’ debuted at No. 3 on the Billboard 200 with 70-thousand units sold. Quavo is currently getting ready to rejoin his Migos gang and release ‘Culture II’, while Travis Scott appears to be inching closer to the release of his ‘AstroWorld’ album.

New Music: Black Eyed Peas – “Street Livin'” [LISTEN]

Approximately eight-years the Black Eyed Peas released their last album ‘The Beginning’. Since then the group has been kind of silent and Fergie has departed. Not to worry as will.i.am, apl.de.ap, and Taboo return with their new single “Street Livin’.”

The socially-driven single tackles a plethora of topics like America’s war on drugs, mass incarceration, race relations, and more. “Street livin’, oh my gosh, another brother got shot by the sarge / Another cop got off with no charge / If you’re black in the ‘hood, you at large,” raps apl.de.ap.

It’s unclear if this is the first single off a forthcoming project, but I’m sure it will be welcomed.

Kendrick Lamar Performs At The CFB National Championship [WATCH]

Last night Alabama came back to defeat Georgia to secure yet another College Football National Championship. Aside from the dramatic finish the halftime show included its first-ever halftime performance by none other than LA’s very own, Kendrick Lamar.

In front of thousands of fans, K. Dot rocked the outdoor stage at Centennial Olympic Park for a nearly nine-minute set, where he performed a four-song medley.

Cortez Kenny rocked his white Nike “Cortez Kenny” sneakers along with a fur-lined parka, and black rolled-up jeans. To get the crowd hype, Dot began his set with “DNA.” before getting into “ELEMENT.,” his chart-dominating “HUMBLE.” single, and his new collaboration with SZA, “All the Stars,” off the upcoming “Black Panther” soundtrack.

Going into the game there was talk that President Donald Trump would be on-hand to watch the game and potentially Kendrick Lamar’s performance, which led to the potential of Kenny making a strong statement against the country’s (FALSE) leader.

Nothing came out of it as Dot ended the 9-minute performance by simply saying, “This is TDE. Black Panther,” as in the upcoming film.

New Music: Eminem – “Chloraseptic (Remix)” Feat. 2 Chainz & Phresher [LISTEN]

To many people it was surprising to not see 2 Chainz featured on Eminem’s ‘Revival’ album. The collaboration between both rappers seemed imminent after photos of them surfaced and rumors swirled of an impending song on the horizon. Chainz even showed some frustration on an IG post.

On the remix of Em’s high-powered “Chloraspetic,” 2 Chainz delivers his crazy verse rapping, “Take ’em to church, I’m talkin’ that tabernacle / It’s the return of the body snatcher / Walk in the spot, make my woman smack you / In a fruit fight, I aim at your Adam’s apple.”

Meanwhile Eminem also unleashes a new verse aimed at haters who said his ‘Revival’ album was trash and said he doesn’t have it anymore.

“I took a stand, went at Tan Face and practically cut my motherfuckin’ fanbase in half and still outsold you,” Em spits. “You just called my shit trash, thank God, I rap better when the odds are stacked / ‘Revival’s wack, I don’t like the ‘Zombie’ track / And when he’s talking that garbage, like how to crap / Where’s your content at, what’s with all the conscious rap? / Pink, Beyoncé, this, and Kehlani that’ / I just added to the fuel in my rocket pack / Until I’m ready to respond, then I’ma launch it at ’em.”

Back in July Tity Boi discussed his session with Eminem and the praise he received saying, “When it was over, Eminem came in and said, ‘How the hell you rhyme tabernacle with Adam’s apple?’”

New Music: Jon Connor – “I’m Back.” [LISTEN]

When Jon Connor signed to Dr. Dre’s Aftermath label in 2013 there was a lot of excitement surrounding the move. Instantly fans were captivated by the idea of the talented Michigan rapper spitting bars over Dre’s thumping production.

Although the output hasn’t been there, there continues to be hype surrounding Jon Connor. It appears he is inching closer to releasing his ‘Vehicle City’ debut album. To add extra hype, Jon Connor has made his triumphant comeback (if you wanna call it that), by dropping his new single “I’m Back.” which has him going off over Remy Ma and Lil Kim’s “Wake Me Up” instrumental. In addition the track includes an intro and adlibs from Dr. Dre himself.

New Music: Uncle Murda – “Why You Mad” (Skillz Diss) [LISTEN]

Uncle Murda and Skillz came into 2018 with 2017 problems. Both rappers have been going back-and-forth at each other after Skillz declined to include Murda in a “Rap Up” collaboration. That prompted the G-Unit rapper to send a shot at the Virginia MC.

After Murda opened his “2017 Rap Up” with “nobody wanna hear Mad Skillz shit,” Skillz responded with a diss track called “Murda Gram,” where he addressed the situation and gave some background on DJ Clark Kent attempting to get Murda on Skillz’s conceptual song.

Murda isn’t staying mum and has dropped a response diss track aimed at Skillz called “Why You Mad.” Listen below.
