Who’s Dropping: New Releases In December [PEEP]

With December in full effect, the year is quickly dwindling down. The fourth quarter has came and while many artists have made a push to leave their mark on 2017 with releases earlier in the year, other artists have waited to the end. Projects that have been rumored are finally coming to fruition and artists that have remained mum are finally ready to share their latest body of work.

The majority of the year has been filled with speculation and rumors of a new Eminem album, which we will finally get this month. N*E*R*D also made headlines in early November when they performed their entire new album at ComplexCon. While many expected the group to drop immediately after the performance, they kept fans waiting. Others like G-Eazy and Jeezy have taken their time to perfect their latest offering which will be released on the same day as Em and N*E*R*D.

December is a month for many that brings gifts and if you are a fan of the culture, you will definitely be blessed with plenty of gifts, in the form of new music.

See everyone dropping a new project this month to end the year on a high.

MIGUEL – ‘WAR & LEISURE’ (12/1) OUT NOW

Undoubtedly Miguel is one of the best artist this decade has seen. His soothing vocals coupled with unique style is a knock-out formula that has been proven through his first three albums. Two-years departed from his last one, ‘Wildheart’, Miguel looks to replicate his success with the release of ‘War & Leisure’.

G PERICO – ‘2 THA LEFT’ (12/8)

G Perico has had a solid 2017. Earlier this year he celebrated his freedom from prison with a Tweet, where he shared his appreciation. Since being freed from prison he’s been completely focused on his music career. Back in April the South Central rapper dropped his ‘All Blue’ debut album and followed that by teaming up with G-Worthy and Cardo on ‘G-Worthy’. On December 8th he will release his third project of the year in ‘2 Tha Left’.

EMINEM – ‘REVIVAL’ (12/15)

Eminem’s ‘Revival’ may be the most anticipated album of the year. Stans on the Internet for months have been trying to figure out cryptic messages in hopes of pinpointing exactly when the album will drop. A few weeks ago, Dr. Dre made it official with a video that disclosed the release date of December 15th. ‘Revival’ will be Eminem’s eighth studio album and ninth overall. It comes four years after Em dropped his The Marshall Mathers LP 2′.

N*E*R*D – ‘NO_ONE REALLY EVER DIES’ (12/15)

G-EAZY – ‘THE BEAUTIFUL & DAMNED’ (12/15)

So far G-Eazy hasn’t missed with any single he’s shared off his forthcoming ‘The Beautiful & Damned’ album. “No Limit” featuring A$AP Rocky and Cardi B continues to rise on the Billboard charts and is dominating clubs and radio. It is looking like this might be G’s most successful album of his career. It will also be accompanied with a cinematic short film that will include album cuts within.

JEEZY – ‘PRESSURE’ (12/15)

Last month Jeezy dropped two new singles in “Bottles Up” featuring Diddy and “Cold Summer” featuring Tee Grizzley. Those two singles appear to have been a warm up (or cold up) for Jeezy’s eighth studio album, ‘Pressure’, which will arrive December 15th. It will follow last year’s critically-acclaimed ‘Trap Or Die 3’ album.

Scarface_Deeply_Rooted

AD – ‘BLUE 89 C2’ (12/15)

I would say real West Coast rap is back, but it really hasn’t disappeared thanks to a list of rappers pushing it forward like Compton’s AD. On December 15th AD will release his forthcoming ‘Blue 89 C2’ project, which will include guest appearances from Wiz Khalifa, Busta Rhymes, Maxo Kream, and more.

Stay tuned for more announcements as they unfold.

Big Sean & Metro Boomin’ Announce Joint Album [PEEP]

From “Bounce Back” to “Pull Up N Wreck” to a complete joint album? Big Sean and Metro Boomin’ have made an announcement that they will be joining forces for the forthcoming ‘Double Or Nothing’ album, that is expected to be released before 2018 arrives.

Sean Don stirred up the hype when he tweeted, “I ain’t done wit 2017 yet…” A few hours later he tweeted “DOUBLE OR NOTHING,” with Metro following suit and tweeting “DOUBLE OR NOTHING” as well. The combination of both artists together has been literally a hit so far.

In an interview with Billboard both artists discussed the upcoming collaborative album and the decision to team up and make it.

Metro told Billboard, “I was born in ’93 and a lot of projects [from that era] had one producer, maybe two. They sounded more cohesive — better as a whole.” Big Sean then continues by saying, “That’s one of the things me and Metro are like-minded on. Maybe it has something to do with us being from the Midwest. We have that goal of wanting to succeed not just for ourselves, but for everybody who’s listening.”

Stay tuned for more information.

Nipsey Hussle Drops New Single W/ Video + Reveals ‘Victory Lap’ Release Date & Cover Art [PEEP]

Still counting stacks from his new partnership with Atlantic Records, Nipsey Hussle pulled up on Sourmilk and Justin Credible last night to premiere his new single “Rap N****s” on the Power 106 #LIFTOFF. During his visit Nip also uncovered the cover art for his forthcoming ‘Victory Lap’ album and revealed the release date if February 16th.

His new single “Rap N****s” lets his presence be known over the dominating West Coast heavy production. While coming for industry rappers, Nip also shouts out different neighborhoods in LA and boasts about his success and independent money-making empire.

“I ain’t nothing like you fuckin’ rap ni**as,” he raps. “Hustler and the shooter, that’s a fact, ni**a.”

The Sergio-directed video includes a cameo from his ex-girlfriend Lauren London. It also shows clips of Nip kicking it in his hood, as well as aerial views of Los Angeles and New York, where he links with his East Coast family.

Watch below.

In the ‘Victory Lap’ cover artwork, Nipsey is shown vibing out in a black foreign convertible with his name on top and the album’s title on the bottom right side corner.

As I previously mentioned in another article, Nipsey will in fact release ‘Victory Lap’ on All-Star weekend. He mentions it on “Stucc In the Grind” off his ‘No Pressure’ collab tape with Bino Rideaux rapping, “I’ll see you n*ggas” All-Star weekend.

To celebrate the album, Nip will also be having a show at the Hollywood Palladium on February 15th, with tickets currently going for $15 a piece.

New Video: G-Eazy – “Him & I” Feat. Halsey [WATCH]

On G-Eazy’s newest ‘The Beautiful & Damned’ release he teams up with his girlfriend, Halsey on “Him & I.” The track plays out like a 2017 “Bonnie & Clyde,” where the two show their loyalty to one another.

Following up the single release yesterday, G comes back with the grainy video today. Directed by him and Halsey, the video shows the couple in a VHS-like filter, rolling around NYC, having a sleepless night as they eat pizza, share coffee, and rejoice with joy.

‘The Beautiful & Damned’ will drop Friday, December 15th. Until then you can watch the video for “Him & I” below.

Miguel Brings That Quality Sound On ‘War & Leisure’ Album [STREAM]

Undoubtedly Miguel is one of the best artist this decade has seen. His soothing vocals coupled with unique style is a knock-out formula that has been proven through his first three albums. Two-years departed from his last one ‘Wildheart’, Miguel looks to replicate his success with the release of ‘War & Leisure’.

His 12-track album is led by the Travis Scott-assisted “Sky Walker,” which has been a success. Miguel also reconnects with J. Cole on “Come Through and Chill,” while collaborating with Kali Uchis on “Caramelo Duro,” and Quiñ on “Wolf.”

In a recent interview with PAPER Magazine, the LA native explains that this album captures his current state of mind, saying, “If I didn’t include some of the things that are happening in the ethos and the things that I’m seeing and paying attention to and that I care about, if I didn’t include those topics in my music, I think it wouldn’t be a real, honest representation.”

Aside from promoting the album, Miggy has had a busy week as he performed on “Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show,” covered PAPER’s 2017 Winter issue, and performed “Sky Walker” on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Kimmel” last night.

Next up for Miguel he will hit the road for “The War & Leisure Tour” with new TDE signee SiR and Nonchalant Savant. The tour begins February 22nd and runs through April 12th.
