VIBES: B-Nyce Talks To Caleborate About ‘Real Person’, Inspirations, Breaks Down Tracks & More [WATCH]

When I featured Bay Area rapper Caleborate last year in my “Indie Pick of the Week” series, I knew we would eventually link up for a full in-person interview to have a real, organic conversation. On my newest episode of VIBES, I sat down with Caleborate and we had a “Real Person” talk.

Amongst the topics we discussed were his new soulful album ‘Real Person’, pervious projects, inspirations, him saying Playboi Carti was his favorite rapper, how much of an influence J. Cole and Lil Wayne have had on his career, and a lot more.

Yesterday, we also went live with his LA Leakers #Freestyle028, were he spit pure fire over Drake’s “Pound Cake” and Erykah Badu’s “Bag Lady.” You can watch that hear, after you check out the interview below.

Bay Area Rapper Caleborate Spazzes On #Freestyle028 [WATCH]

YO! Let’s just start off by saying early last year I was super hyped and telling everyone about this dope ass Bay Area rapper named Caleborate. Upon showing Justin Credible and DJ Sourmilk, them boys instantly agreed.

Since then Caleb has came along way by dropping his ‘1993’ project last year and following that up with this year’s soulful masterpiece, ‘Real Person’.

As you know we are the LA LEAKERS, so we had to get Caleborate in the studio to exercise his lyrical abilities on one of the industry’s realist freestyle series (Shoutout to Sway & Funk Flex), that is the LA LEAKERS. Over 5-minutes my boy torches Drake’s “Pound Cake” and insists on continuing, as he finishes strong over Erykah Badu’s “Bag Lady” instrumental. (I know it’s also Dr. Dre’s “Xxplosive” instrumental…hold your slander).

Watch Caleborate go-off on #Freestyle028 below.

Listen below.

T-Pain joins 6lack on the second single, “One Way,” where they both seduce their female listeners with nasty, raunchy lyrics.

Chris Brown’s ‘Heartbreak On A Full Moon’ Goes Gold In A Week [PEEP]

Screen Shot 2017-11-13 at 5.18.10 PM

Even though Chris Brown’s ‘Heartbreak On a Full Moon’ only got three days of of sales in its first-week because it dropped on Halloween, which landed on a Tuesday this year, he still managed to earn a RIAA gold certification in only one week.

The 45-track double album, that requires time to fully digest and listen to didn’t top the Billboard 200 charts and earned a third spot with 68-thousand sales its first-week (essentially three days). Breezy urged his massive fan base to stream the album on all platforms and purchase multiple copies, which apparently they did.

Chris then shared a photo on his IG of his label submitting the album for a gold certification just a few days removed from the release. From there the news circled that the album had surpassed 500-thousand in sales, warranting a gold plaque.

With singles off the album like the Future-assisted “High End” and “Questions” continuing to climb on the charts, it isn’t too farfetched that the double album might be certified-platinum by the end of the year. However, for double albums the RIAA requires a double LP to do 500-thousand for it to qualify for platinum.

Make sure you grab ‘Heartbreak On a Full Moon’ on all platforms.
