Justin Credible Album Spotlight: ‘The Life Of Pablo’ – Kanye West

Being a fan of Kanye West these days can be tough with the media portraying negative things about him. But if there’s anything I’ve learned from Kanye these past few years is to be confident and to follow our passions. Kanye may not be the most liked person in the world but whether it’s music or fashion, Ye’ is always creating moments and setting trends for the culture.

I may not agree with all the twitter rants and extra stuff but we have to look at the bigger picture and realize that he is the only artist bold enough to say what’s really on his mind. He doesn’t care if he’s liked, but I do respect that he’s bold enough to be free and speak his mind.

On a fashion tip, he influenced the world to wear tighter clothes and is one of the pioneers that brought high fashion into the Hip Hop culture.

Kanye made us all want to be “creatives”. Whether it’s music, shoes, or any type of content, he made us pay attention to creative details.

Let’s not forget that this is the guy that has put out countless classic albums like College Dropout, Late Registration, and Graduation. This is the same artist that shaped a whole new sound and created a whole new lane for music with his 808’s and Heartbreaks album. That album paved ways for artists like Drake, Bryson Tiller, etc.

In my opinion, Kanye is the most influential artist we’ve had in the past 10 years. I’m judging Kanye for his music at the end of the day. As long as he continues to put out quality work, I’ll always be a fan.

Now that we’re on the music side of it, let’s talk about this new album, “The Life Of Pablo”. Right off the bat, I really like the album. I think Kanye really brought back some of that Kanye West vibe we all enjoy.

The album opens up with Ultra Light Beams featuring Chance the Rapper and one of the GOAT’s in my opinion, The – Dream. Chance delivers an amazing verse. “I met Kanye I’m never going to fail” What a statement coming from the young kid out of Southside Chicago. The – Dream did what he does best and added his magical touch to an amazing intro song.

Other few notable songs on the album are Famous, Feedback, Highlights, FML, Real Friends, No More Parties In LA, 30 Hours, and my favorite Waves.

“Waves” is an incredible song! Breezy and Yeezy collaboration was perfectly executed. From the production, to Chris Brown’s vocals, it was all well done.

30 Hours features a guest appearance from the legendary Andre 3000. The thing that also caught my attention is that Drake is a credited songwriter on this song. Not sure, if Drake had anything to do with the song. Either way it does have a Drake vibe to it but aside from that I enjoy hearing anything new from Andre 3000.

Famous may be the most controversial song on the album where Yeezy raps about making Taylor Swift “famous”. Yo Kanye I f*ck with you the long way, I don’t know about you but I don’t think the word “B***h” has ever been a term of endearment. LOL!

I think Kanye should’ve stayed away from all that but the song itself is a really dope song. Swizz Beatz on the adlibs, and Rihanna on the hook. Kanye continues to bring the best of the best together to create music we would’ve never expected.

Another one I really enjoy is FML. FML features a really dope feature from one of the hottest artists out, The Weeknd. Yeezy raps about his thoughts and scenarios about how he can’t mess up his life and jeopardize what he has for the temporary things in his life. The Weeknd comes in and mentions how he wishes how he can F** his life up but he can’t let those things get to him. The song is deep.

Yeezy brought on Young Thug for the assist on Highlights. But what has everyone talking is the light shot he took at Ray J. It went something along the lines of “I bet me and Ray J would be friends if we weren’t in love with the same b***h”. Again, I don’t about B***h being a term of endearment, but Kanye definitely knows how to make a headline.

The Life Of Pablo is a good album. Maybe not his best but it’s really a good body of work. The bottom line is, Kanye sets the tone and moves the needle. Anything Kanye related makes headlines no matter what it is. He’s the type of person that creates MOMENTS for the culture. He creates some of the most amazing music and gives us a feeling that no other artist can give us. Before we destroy “The Life Of Pablo” let’s recognize that no one liked the Yeezus album when it came out either. But we still had to have the Yeezus tour hoodies, jackets, and we all ran to the tour when it came into town.

My point is, Kanye creates moments that are talked about on every major news outlet and no other artists is doing that. Kanye is GOAT along with Jay Z, Beyonce.
