2 Chainz chopped it up with us about the NBA finals not too long ago and now he’s chopping it up at the big leagues sitting on the round table of ESPN’s First Take. Something about OKC and the Spurs? Since the Lakers are out, I guess I’ll just root for the West.
Check the best still from the ESPN segment, below.
Ashton Kutcher is back on Punk’d and for his first victim, he chose our favorite Canadian Jewish rapper Drake. He set him up in a fake earthquake with the plan for him to meet the US vice president in a lower level parking garage. Not sure how Drizzy fell for it but it was a pretty hilarious episode. Watch Drizzy endure his first “earthquake” and freak out yelling, “This isn’t real!,” when a woman goes into labor in the parking garage. Well played Ashton. Welcome back!
Nasir reveals the official album cover for his tenth studio album (and last under Def Jam), Life Is Good. The art itself is very personal leading us to believe that his album will be too. Life happenings and heartbreaks make for good music. Find out how personal Nas will get when he drops his project July 17th.
So if you haven’t heard, the bossman Weezy pulled the plug on Nicki’s Summer Jam performance in NY earlier today. Here’s the comments that pissed the YMCMB team off.
“I see the real Hip-Hop heads sprinkled in here. I see them. I know there are some chicks here waiting to sing ‘Starships’ later, I’m not talking to y’all right now. Fuck that bullshit. I’m here to talk about real hip-hop shit. People here to see A$AP Rocky today. People here to see ScHoolboy Q on this stage. That’s the shit I represent.”
How do ya’ll feel about this? Was Peter Rosenberg out of line? Or Was Nicki being sensitive?
JANICE UPDATE: So apparently Funk Flex wasn’t happy about Ms. Nicki backing out. He clearly stated the following on-air — “We ain’t fuckin with commercial rappers no more, if you lost the fuckin streets, its your fault! If you don’t go gold, it’s your fault! I’m dedicated to tearing you down! Fuck with me! We gon show you mama, you think you didn’t sell any records this time?” (via DDot)
Oh? Someone’s not happy. In my opinion, the YMCMB team could have handled the situation a little more professional rather than having the headliner back out but I guess they wanted to “make a statement.” Barbz fans were disappointed but on the upside, music fans we’re not. Nas and Lauryn Hill were a pretty nice replacement.

I’m so wack for missing this. This video dropped about 3 weeks ago and my girl, Jessica from Co-Sign, sent it over to me. Had to post it. Shit is amazing!
