Not only did Nas drop potent stick-to-your-rib singles like “Daughters,” “The Don” and “Bye Baby,” he went to great lengths to craft memorable story-driven videos to match. ” ‘The Don’ was a great visual, ‘Daughters’ was a great visual, ‘Nasty’ was great and I think with this record coming off of Distant Relatives, nobody expected this,” pointed out MTV Programming VP Yomi Desalu while referencing the mixed reviews surrounding Nas’ Damien Marley collaboration album in 2010.
While you were pouring champagne for your midnight toast, Nas rang in the new year performing at one of NYC’s famed venues Radio City Music Hall. The Queensbridge poet donned a white tux and recreated his Life Is Good album cover for the sold-out crow during his performance of “No Introduction.” Definitely, a vivid way to kick off the show. Meek Mill releases an uplifting track for the dreamers with his top notch buddies Nas, John Legend and Rick Ross (because Ma-ma-ma-maybach Music).
