According to Hits Daily Double, Kid Cudi’s LP sold 139,424 first-week units, debuting at No. 2 on the chart. Fall Out Boy’s Save Rock and Roll closely beat Indicud to the top spot with 148,705 copies sold.
I want to say that this is the first magazine that has the entire Black Hippy crew on the front cover. Glad they chose RESPECT.. Cop the mag’s TDE takeover on April 30.
Jay-Z graced the cover of TIME magazine’s The 100 Most Influential People In The World issue.
Jay Z embodies so much of what makes New York New York. A kid from a tough neighborhood who grows up in public housing, overcomes lots of bad influences on the street, never lets go of his dream, makes it to the top — and then keeps going, pursuing new outlets for his creativity and ambition. When no one would sign him to a record contract, he created his own label and built a music empire — before going on to design clothing lines, open sports bars and, most recently, represent professional athletes. He’s an artist-entrepreneur who stands at the center of culture and commerce in 21st century America, and his influence stretches across races, religions and regions. He’s never forgotten his roots — “Empire State of Mind” was a love song to our city — and as a co-owner of the NBA Nets, he helped bring a major league sports team back to Brooklyn, not far from his old neighborhood. In nearly everything he’s tried, he’s found success. (He even put a ring on Beyoncé.) And in doing so, he’s proved that the American Dream is alive and well.

Earlier today Drake fired back to Chris Brown’s diss from while back:
“His insecurities are the reason I make better music than him…I’m more popping than him…At one point the woman he loves fell into my lap and I did what a real nigga would do and treated her with respect.”
“I’m not thinking about that girl, either.” Drake on Rihanna
Props to Elliot Wilson.

Chris Brown responded with “Lol”
“Before I am an artist, I am a father, a son, and a brother to some of the most cherished women in the world. So for me to suggest in any way that harm and violation be brought to a woman is one of my biggest mistakes and regrets. As an artist, one of the most liberating things is being able to paint pictures with my words. But with that comes a great responsibility. And most recently, my choice of words was not only offensive, it does not reflect my true heart. And for this, I apologize.
To every woman that has felt the sting of abuse, I apologize. I recognize that as an artist I have a voice and with that, the power of influence. To the young men who listen to my music, please know that using a substance to rob a woman of her right to make a choice is not only a crime, it’s wrong and I do not encourage it. To my fans, I also apologize if I have disappointed you. I can only hope that this sparks a healthy dialogue and that I can contribute to it.”
I want to thank Reebok Classics for their hard work and dedication over this past year.Good partners, good shoe.continued success.

Cudi took it to twitter today to announce that his new album Indicud will be dropping on April 16th instead of April 23rd.
The lineup is HUGE!
Jay-Z and Budweiser’s Made In America Festival will return with more big names in 2013. You’re both carrying the torch as the leaders of the new generation. How do you define musical genius?
KENDRICK: Somebody that don’t really have any boundaries, that’s not confined to the traditional structure of a song or traditional sounds. When you listen to “Adorn,” it feels like he’s not even trying to structure a radio joint. He just felt the music, felt the instrumentation and wrote the track.
MIGUEL: Good looks, bro. My favorite artists always took whatever they loved out of music and made it their own. It was their take on it. Kendrick is one of those people where I can hear Ice Cube’s first two albums’ influence. I get the street edge, but then I hear like the poetic player, smoothness, creativity and smart street savvy of Andre on Aquemini. That juxtaposition is what I hear in Kendrick, but it’s his own take. If you listen to my shit, you’re gonna hear Prince, Marvin Gaye, Led Zeppelin or a little bit of the Beatles. That’s where I’m pulling from.
I imagine this is how it works. Jay-Z gets a massages, makes millions. Jay-Z enjoys a Cuban cigar in Cuba, creates a multiyear, worldwide partnership with Universal Music Group. It’s all pretty simple.
Jay-Z, a man of many hats, and Roc Nation announced today that they’ve entered a multiyear partnership with the largest music company, Universal Music Group. In the partnership, the Roc Nation music label will able to operate as it’s own label inside UMG.
“This agreement presents a unique opportunity for Roc Nation’s artists — being able to continue to operate as an independent label with the strength, power and reach of the best major,” said Hov in a statement.
Just last week, Roc Nation hit headlines with the arrival of their sports agency, Roc Nation Sports, after signing their first client, New York Yankees’ Robinson Cano. What’s next up Hov’s sleeve? The Great Gatsby soundtrack.
Justin Timberlake’s The 20/20 Experience is officially platinum. The album is spending another week at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 albums chart after moving JT moved 318,000 copies last week according to Nielsen SoundScan.
