To make up for a few delays, Wale pushes the release date up a week and gets his ‘SHiNE’ on with his long-awaited, fifth studio album.

The album which was supposed to be released next Friday, May 5th was released a week earlier after the rapper surprised fans by announcing at a Genius annotation and listening event that he would be releasing it today.

Folarin grabs Chris Brown, Lil Wayne, Travis Scott, Major Lazer, G-Eazy, WizKid, J Balvin, Davido, his babygirl, Zyla Moon, and others as collaborators on the 14-track album. ‘SHiNE’ also includes one of last summer’s hottest songs, “My PYT”.

Wale spoked to The FADER about his follow-up to 2015’s ‘The Album About Nothing’ saying, “I want you guys to feel like, ‘I always want to play SHINE when I’m going or out or coming from the club or going through a breakup or when I’m talking ’bout who’s the nicest rapper.’ I might fall short, but that’s the goal. That that’s feeling I want to give.”

In support of the album, Wale will be embarking on his “SHiNE Tour,” beginning May 5th in Atlanta. Stream ‘SHiNE’ below via Apple Music.
