Audio: J. Cole – The Good Son (Pt. 1)

Here’s some new (or old but new to our ears) J. Cole for your night. The story Cole is spittin’ in this this track gives me the chills! Hopefully someone releases pt. 2 soon. I know it’s hidden in the vault somewhere. Props to OS.

Video: DJ Quik Talks Nate Dogg With The LA Leakers

Earlier this week DJ Quik stopped by and shared some stuff with us about the late, Nate Dogg. It was dope watching Quik zone out and really open up and reminisce about his friend. Nate meant so much to his fans. Be sure to pick up Quik’s album, “The Book of David” on 4/20. Also, look out for our mixtape with him dropping before that, “Mastermind: The Preface”.

“My Letter To Nate Dogg” by Justin Credible

Last night when I learned we lost Nate Dogg, I did not want to believe it. Nate is a legend. I grew up to his music. What’s a party without “Ain’t No Fun”, “Area Codes”, “Never Leave Me Alone”, and the list goes on. It’s ironic that just yesterday afternoon I had a vision of attending a Dr. Dre concert in the near future and had hopes of Nate Dogg surprising us with an appearance.

Today while listening to Big Boy, Dj Eman, Dj Ever, and the whole Power family play so many great songs, it took me to a happy place. It reminded me of some amazing memories. Nate came from an era when I fell in love with Hip Hop.

Looking back I can remember listening to the radio and hearing Nate Dogg on every song. To this day we joke when an artist has more than three hits on the radio at once, we say.. “He’s the new Nate Dogg”.

Nate influenced so many people in music and life. He has been the voice of Los Angeles for many years.

This is a reminder we are not promised tomorrow. Instances like this, and the tragedy in Japan are indications we need to cherish every moment and lesson in life.

In the words of Mack 10… “It ain’t a hit till Nate Dogg spit”.

We will forever miss you. You are a legend and your legacy will never be forgotten. I picture 2 Pac in heaven waiting for you with a nice glass of thug passion and open arms. I imagine you are both in a studio reminiscing about old times and making beautiful new music.

Rest In Paradise Nate Dogg.

From a true fan,

Justin Credible
