Almost three years since the release of ‘Blank Face LP’, Groovy Q unleashes his fifth studio and third major-label album, ‘CrasH Talk’.
The 14-track project comes fully-equipped with bangers like “Numb Numb Juice,” “CHopstix” featuring Travis Scott, and the DJ Premier-sampled “CrasH.” Along with that YG, Ty Dolla $ign, Kid Cudi, 21 Savage, Lil Baby, and 6lack all make appearances.
In true TDE fashion Kendrick Lamar provides ad-libs throughout the album.
To celebrate the release Q will be doing an album signing and pop-up shop with exclusive ‘CrasH Talk’ merch today on Fairfax.
TDE heavyhitter ScHoolboy Q pulled up to the Power 106 #LIFTOFF to chop it up with Justin Credible and DJ Sourmilk about his long-awaited ‘CrasH Talk’ album, the late Nipsey Hussle’s legacy, his love for golf, compared each of his albums, and more.
“My process is my process.”
The Los Angeles native jokes that he always starts out with one “trash” album, that he uses to get him out of the “pocket” of his last album. He revealed that he always thinks the first cut of the album is “the one,” but if he wakes up the next morning and he doesn’t feel the need to hear a track again, he knows its time to scratch it and go back in. Q adds that the problem is “It always sounds like the last album I just made.”
After he works through this step of the process, he is able to focus and find a new direction and voice going into the final version of the album. Once he finds that “new pocket,” he’s confident that all of his projects will carry their own unique sound. Fans can rest assured that although CrasH Talk won’t sound like Oxy or Blank Face, this album will still be him–just the next chapter of his life.
CrasH Talk is about being fun and aggressive and giving fans content.
The “Collard Greens” rapper also got personal with the Leakers. He shared things along the lines of Kendrick Lamar being one of his most honest critics, and how picking up golf last year helped him out of the depression he experienced when writing Blank Face.
He even spilled that he felt no one in LA (other than Snoop) had done anything like the late Nipsey Hussle.
“Nipsey was so cold. When I dropped Oxymoron, he was the first person I seen. He was the first person to tell me congratulations on my album before anyone else… Look what he did for his community, nobody did it like him”
Groovy Q closes with advice to fans and people working on their craft, stating the importance of being yourself and having patience on your own journey.
Detroit’s Icewear Vezzo broke out on the scene back in February with his Big Sean-assisted inspirational single “Balance.” The Motor City rapper looks to keep the momentum going on the track as he unleashes the Kid Art-directed luxury visual for “Balance.”
Chris Brown and Tyga go way back and have a collection of hits together. Add Marshmello to that equation and you get yet another banger, as all three of them connect for they new party anthem “Light It Up,” which comes equipped with them summer vibes.
Russ is one of the hardest working dudes on the scene and has pictures have popped up on Instagram of him working with different people from Snoop Dogg to Ty Dolla $ign to Timbaland and more. Today, he releases his latest single “All I Want” featuring Davido and accompanies it with a video.
YG wastes no time in releasing the visuals for his latest single “Stop Snitchin,” as he comes through with it just hours after dropping the single off his upcoming ‘4Real 4Real’ album. The video include vivid imagery of the Bompton rapper working at a plantation and eventually ties up the slave owner. When his fellow slaves decide to snitch he has to let them know what it is.
DJ Snake is notorious for putting together big records with household names. On his last single “Taki Taki” he brought together a latin combination of Cardi B, Ozuna, and Selena Gomez. His latest offering is no different as he brings together a few ATLiens in Offset, 21 Savage, and Gucci Mane to go along with Sheck Wes on “Enzo.”
South Central’s Jag has been on a mission to address the social issues in his community and has done so well with previous tracks like “Kapernick Effect.” Today he strikes back with his latest introspective single “BLK On BLK,” which comes with a colorful video and stronger message.
YG releases his anti-ratting anthem “Stop Snitchin,” which he dedicates to everybody and anybody who has ever taken a stand or has paperwork. The song was performed at both week 1 and week 2 of his “Boachella” set with pictures of alleged snitches 6ix9ine and SkinnyFromThe9 popping up on the screen.
“Stop Snitchin” is set to appear on Gizzle’s upcoming ‘4Real 4Real’ album which drops Friday, May 3rd.
Tyga takes it back to the “Wild West” in the Western-inspired video for his recently-released D.A. Doman-produced single “Goddamn.” Draped down in cowboy gear, T-Raww busts into saloons and gets down with some freaky cowgirls.
In just two days ScHoolboy Q will release his long-awaited ‘CrasH Talk’ album but before doing so he’s dropping off another single to follow “Numb Numb Juice” and the Travis Scott-assisted “CHopstix.” The new single “CrasH” is a smooth joint that is led by the Boi-1da produced track.

Los Angeles representative Jallal comes through with his first release of the year in “You Gon’ See,” produced by Arteen Mozafari. The single comes accompanied with the Eric Stephenson-directed video, which finds the rapper mobbing thru the city with his homies.
