Rihanna Becomes The World’s Richest Female Musician [PEEP]

Rihanna was already the baddest gal in the world and today she becomes the world’s richest female musician.

The superstar songstress was given the title today by Forbes. Rih is only 31-years-old and has already amassed a fortune of $600-million putting her ahead of other boss women like Madonna ($570-million), Celine Dion ($450-million), and Beyoncé ($400-million).

The majority of her wealth doesn’t come from her successful musical career or hits though. Her partnership with French luxury giant LVMH, who co-owns her Fenty Beauty brand has brought in a lot of that change.

The makeup brand which launched in September 2017 has been a hit with a reported $100-million in sales in its first-weeks. It has reportedly garnered an estimated $570-million and is worth more than $3-billion, while her Savage X Fenty lingerie line is also break record sales and bringing in millions.

Rih doesn’t appear to be stopping and should continue to climb the wealth latter as last month she launched her Fenty fashion house in partnership with LVMH and became the first black woman to top the LVMH maison.

Congrats Rihanna baby. Holla at me if you still have my number. *WINK*

The Most Anticipated Albums Of 2019 [PEEP]

Last year was a major year for hip-hop with a plethora of fire releases and every week being loaded with heat. Even with all the fire that was delivered we didn’t get a few albums that we have been waiting for, which makes them even more anticipated.

With that said I have compiled a list of “The 10 Most Anticipated Albums of 2019,” that myself along with Justin Credible and DJ Sourmilk are waiting for. Hopefully we get these really this year and 2019 is as lit with heat as 2018 was.

In no particular order I have listed the 10 albums I feel the culture needs this year and the general public is yearning for. Let’s get to it.

Kendrick-Lamar

KENDRICK LAMAR

Kendrick Lamar hasn’t let his foot off the gas since he released of his 2017 masterpiece ‘DAMN.’, which went on to receive five GRAMMY awards at the 60th annual GRAMMYs. In 2018 he continued his productiveness and domination with ‘Black Panther: The Album’ that is nominated for six GRAMMYs, including “Album of the Year.”

K. Dot is rumored to have a new album in the works that is said to be coming this year. The hype surrounds any album or project he is associated with. Being one of the greatest of this generation, Dot keeps everyone on the edge of their seat with his timeless music.

j-cole-21-savage-6ix9ine-line

J. COLE & DREAMVILLE’S ‘REVENGE OF THE DREAMERS III’

An MVP candidate of the 2018 campaign, J. Cole really dominated with the release of his ‘KOD’ album and was featured on over 10 songs, doing collaborations with Jay Rock, Royce Da 5’9″, Wale, 6lack, Moneybagg Yo, Anderson .Paak, J.I.D, amongst others. Cole really maintained his top 5 rapper status spitting hard-hitting bars, being versatile, and killing his features.

On his “Album of the Year” freestyle Cole teased his next mixtape ‘The Off Season’ and forthcoming album ‘The Fall Off’. Along with that Cole and his Dreamville label hosted a “Rap Camp,” where they worked on the third installment of their ‘Revenge of the Dreamers’ compilation. It’s interesting to see what comes from the sessions, maybe all three projects will come from them. *crosses fingers*

rihanna-2019-600x361

RIHANNA

Rihanna spent a lot of last year working on her FENTY makeup and clothing line, closing deals, and even doing some acting.

As of late she’s been seen in the studio working on music and her vocal producer Kuk Harrell recently teased her upcoming album saying, “R9 is great. R9 is amazing. It’s incredible, And that’s all I’m going to say,” in response to a fan on social media. The Badgal also responded to a fan on Instagram who asked when the new album was coming with a response that said, “2019.”

Her next album should include a lot of dancehall and island vibes according to sources around her. Whatever style she brings I’m excited to hear some new music from her and to see who she collaborates with.

chris-brown-2017-tgj-600x420

CHRIS BROWN

Being one of the youngest artists to own their masters, Chris Brown has been bossing up and looking to secure his musical legacy. He also recently inked a new deal with his longtime record label RCA, which gives him full rights over his full catalogue.

Last time we got a full-length studio album from Breezy was in October 2017 when he dropped his 45-track double album, ‘Heartbreak on a Full Moon’. With a relatively silent 2018, all signs point to CB releasing his eighth album.

Kanye-West-920x584

KANYE WEST

Kanye West was busy last year releasing his ‘Ye’ album, collaborating with Kid Cudi on their joint ‘Kids See Ghosts’ album, and executive producing albums for Nas, Pusha-T, and Teyana Taylor. Ye’s album was received lukewarm reviews and his antics stole the show, leaving many tuned out.

He was supposed to release ‘Yandhi’ in the fourth quarter of last year but ultimately pushed it back to work on it. Aside from ‘Yandhi’, Yeezy may also be releasing ‘Good Ass Job’ with Chance The Rapper and the second installment of ‘KSG’ with Cudi. Let’s hope he doesn’t create distractions to take people away from the music and check him out.

<> at The Queen Mary on April 28, 2018 in Long Beach, California.

SCHOOLBOY Q

ScHoolboy Q has been surrounded with speculation of a new album since 2018 after he dropped his ‘Blank Face EP’ in 2016. The passing of his good friend Mac Miller last year was hard on hims and he admitted he didn’t feel right working on it as he mourned, causing him to shelve the album.

Despite perpetual album delays we know that in Q’s got something in this year and is ready to takeover the scene with it. I’m excited to see how much he’s grown as an artist and if he experiments with any new sounds.

Rick-Ross-Net-Worth

RICK ROSS

Rick Ross has been keeping things smooth as of late making appearances in different studios and giving guest verses to others but it’s been a while since we got a solo album from the biggest Bawse.

Back in August Rozay was rumored to have been releasing ‘Port Of Miami 2’ and it didn’t come so that only adds to the speculation he will be dropping it this year. Ross has consistently remained on top of the game when it comes to putting out great bodies of work. Weather he’s calling out names or calling it like it is Rozay always has something to say in his music. I’m sure you can expect a classic when it does finally come.

Big-Sean-may-2018-a-billboard-1548 (1)

BIG SEAN

Sean Don was absent for most of 2018, appearing on a a few songs but other than that was idle. Many people and Sean himself said he was dealing and working through some things. We know he’s a workhorse so through that time I’m sure he’s also been working on new music.

Many people said Sean fell off last year, but I can assure you when he drops his next album and let’s us in on what he was going through, he will be right back there. Can’t wait to hear some new, real music from Sean.

gambino

CHILDISH GAMBINO

Without putting out an album in 2018 Childish Gambino had a very impactful year in the industry. He dropped one of the biggest songs of 2018 in “This Is America,” which earned him five GRAMMY nominations at this year’s awards.

As it is rumored his next album under the name Childish Gambino will be his final under that name before he goes by his government, Donald Glover. Not sure if that means his sound will change or what that will bring but if his next one can be anything like 2016’s “‘Awaken, My Love!”‘ I’m all for it.

boogie1440x720header

BOOGIE

Signed to Eminem’s Shady Records label, Boogie can flat out rap his ass off. The Compton rapper has already announced he will be dropping his album ‘Everything’s For Sale’ on January 25th and recently dropped “Silent Ride,” which is a banger.

I believe that once he drops the album he will be regarded as a top 10 spitter in the game. Stay tuned.

p06k1ty5

SAWEETIE

The Bay Area Princess broke into the scene with a mega-hit in “ICY GRL,” which put a lot of eye balls on her. Aside from her beauty, Saweetie has a lot of appeal and star potential and it has shown with follow-up singles like “Up Now.”

What she’s really lacking to take her to the next level is a full-length album and I believe that’s what her fans and critics are waiting for. We saw what Cardi B’s debut album did for her and I believe Saweetie’s debut can have the same impact.

saba-noname-smino-photo-by-saba

SABA, SMINO & NONAME COLLAB ALBUM

This collab album is atop every hip-hop heads wish list and with a lot of reason. All three of these Mid-West artist are really putting their region back where it once was when Nelly was out here killing shit. Saba, Smino and Noname’s ‘Care for Me’ ‘NOIR’, and ‘Room 25’ were highly regarded last year and made a lot of noise.

Although this collaborative album hasn’t been confirmed by either artists it would be an EPIC one. All three of them also attended Dreamville’s “Rap Camp” so maybe they worked on some stuff that can be on it out there. We’ll see if this happens.

Screen-Shot-2018-08-28-at-11.50.11-AM-656x381

YBN CORDAE

We’re still waiting on YBN Cordae’s debut album and if it is going to happen, I believe this year is when it will. He rapped his way into people’s heads last year and verbally murdered everything he did. Without a doubt he is the most lyrical out of the YBN crew, but with the help of Nahmir and Jay he can also make some mainstream-appealing music to take him up another level.

Quavo Talks Potential ‘Quavo Huncho’ Album, Drake & Migos Project, Rihanna Declining Her Super Bowl Performance & More [WATCH]

Quavo was in town for the “Aubrey & The Three Amigos Tour” and took some time to stop by the Power 106 #LIFTOFF for a conversation with Justin Credible and DJ Sourmilk

During his stop on the #LIFTOFF Huncho talked about his recently-released ‘Huncho Jack’ album, the potential Drake and Migos collab album, Rihanna turning down an opportunity to perform at the Super Bowl, the difference between each Migos member, working on “APESH*T” and “Stir Fry” with Pharrell, and more.

“I did “APES**T” and “Stir Fry” all in the same night with Pharrell. We was locking in for Culture II and we needed another record and I couldn’t turn Pharrell down like, I had the album already turned,” he said about working with Pharrell. “He [Pharrell] came through, he was next door, he dropped like five, six beats. He pulled up that beat “Stir Fry” form like 2008, we knocked that out.”

Jorja Smith Performs Rihanna & Cardi B Mash-Up For BBC Radio 1Xtra’s “Live Lounge” [WATCH]

We all know just out talented Jorja Smith is and me personally am looking forward to her upcoming album dropping at midnight! While doing some promotion for the album she stopped by BBC Radio 1 Xtra’s “Live Lounge” and blessed them with a mash-up performance of Rihanna’s “Man Down” and Cardi B’s “Be Careful.” She also performed a stripped down version of her “Blue Lights” single.

New Music: N*E*R*D – “Lemon (Remix)” Feat. Rihanna & Drake [LISTEN]

Over the weekend Pharrell made a guest appearance on Drake’s OVOSOUNDRADIO and when big names make guest appearances on the show, it usually means new music is on the horizon. Staying true to the format, Pharrell unleashed a remix of “Lemon,” reuniting Rihanna and Drake on a song.

The remix features a braggadocios verse from Drizzy rapping “My daddy told me listen, you better get some money/ & not die & go to prison/ so you see/ i got rich & stayed free.” Does Drake’s verse make Lemon that much better? With all the content he’s dropping is an album is certainly coming soon. Be sure to leave a comment below on what you thought about the remix.

DJ Khaled Performs “Wild Thoughts” With Rihanna & Bryson Tiller At The GRAMMYs [WATCH]

“They don’t want you to perform at the GRAMMYs, so you know what we gon do?”

Joined by Rihanna and Bryson Tiller, DJ Khaled took the GRAMMYs stage in a big way last night to perform his 2017 smasher, “Wild Thoughts.” Khaled was draped in an all-red Yves Saint Laurent suit as he did his dance and celebrated life.

Meanwhile Rih Rih did her thing as she brought her island flavor dancing around the stage and looking absolutely stunning. Bryson came along a little shy, but executed his verse to perfection.

New Music: N.E.R.D – “Lemon” Feat. Rihanna [LISTEN]

With N.E.R.D set to reunite at ComplexCon this weekend in Long Beach, the group comprised of Pharrell Williams, Chad Hugo, and Shay Haley released their newest single, “Lemon” featuring none other then Rihanna.

This single is N.E.R.D’s first since their last album ‘Nothing’ dropped 7-years-ago. Over the busy, hypnotic production, Rihanna displays her rapping skills, while Pharrell does his thing and while he gets political raps,  “If not now, then when / If not me, then who / Don’t drink the Kool-Aid, my friends / I tried to tell y’all about this dude!”

Aside from performing at ComplexCon this Saturday, November 4th, the group is apparently working on an album that will follow ‘Nothing’. Several N.E.R.D billboards have been appearing around L.A. The billboards read, “No One Ever Really Dies,” which is an acronym for N.E.R.D, but may also be the title of the group’s upcoming album.

Kendrick Lamar & Rihanna Are Crime Partners In The Video For “LOYALTY.” [WATCH]

loyalty-video

Kendrick Lamar and Rihanna play their parts as the modern-day Bonnie and Clyde in the video for Dot’s ‘DAMN.’ single, “LOYALTY.”

Shot in Los Angeles and co-directed by Dave Meyers and the little homies, the video displays different symbolism around the title of the song. It begins with a blindfolded K. Dot, who is stabbed by his girlfriend in a hotel room.

From there Kung-Fu Kenny remains attached to Rihanna, as the duo commit various crimes, run several scams, and go for the money.

This video is released in the midst of Kendrick Lamar’s “DAMN. Tour” first leg. Two nights ago he brought out J. Cole in Detroit and last night he brought out Chance The Rapper in Chicago. Watch it below.

DJ Khaled Drops New Single “Wild Thoughts” Feat. Rihanna & Bryson Tiller Along W/ Video [PEEP]

khaled-rihanna-bryson-wt

NEW VIDEO ALERT.

We’re only one week away from DJ Khaled blessing the industry with his latest gem ‘Grateful’. Executive produced by his son Ashad Khaled, the star-studded album will include some very big names. Khaled let off his newest single “Wild Thoughts,” where he brings together Rihanna and Bryson Tiller.

In true Khaled-fashion, he’s teased the single for weeks now, as well as the video. In an ultimate boss move, the mogul not only dropped the single today, but he also gave fans the visuals for the highly-anticipated single.

The Colin Tilley-directed video is shot in the Little Haiti neighborhood of Miami. It is fully equipped with island vibes and dance moves that will have you going all summer. The single samples Carlos Santana’s “Maria Maria.”

“Wild Thoughts” follows Khaled’s Drake collaboration “To the Max” and might be the last single before the album drops next week.

‘Grateful’ will include features from Nicki Minaj, Calvin Harris, Alicia Keys, PARTYNEXTDOOR, 2 Chainz, Gucci Mane, Young Thug, Migos, T.I., Pusha T, the artists mentioned above, and many, many more. It will drop next Friday, June 23rd.

Kendrick Lamar Drops His Highly-Anticipated ‘DAMN.’ Album & Teases Another One? [STREAM]

damn

Two years after dropping his critically-acclaimed, Grammy-winning album ‘To Pimp a Butterfly’, Kendrick Lamar releases his superlative, third studio album, ‘DAMN.’ This album is distinctively different sounding from the jazzy ‘TPAB’.

Kung-Fu Kenny’s different approach is led by production from the likes of Mike WiLL Made-It, DJ Dahi, James Blake, Sounwave, BADBADNOTGOOD, Steve Lacy, The Alchemist, and Ricci Riera. The 14-track effort also includes features from Rihanna on “LOYALTY,” U2 on “XXX,” and Zacari on “LOVE.” The album leaked early yesterday with the Internet trolling saying LeBron James’ e-mail was hacked, following the NBA baller previewing snippets on his Instagram story.

There is several messages to be dissected throughout the album from the track listing, to the anecdotes a storytelling K. Dot tells throughout. The album ends with the rapper getting shot and dying in a gun fight. It’s quite ironic with the album technically dropping on Good Friday, the day Jesus died and was crucified. The Internet has been buzzing with rumors of another Kendrick album dropping this Sunday, which would be Easter — the day Jesus was resurrected.  The second album would be called ‘NATION’ and if you combine both it’s ‘DAMN.NATION’, the Christian belief that means “condemnation to eternal punishment in hell.” If that in fact does happen, it would be one hell of a strategy by the TDE team, who are very calculated in all their moves. It’s also worth noting Kendrick has always preached about his Christian belief in his music.

Furthermore, on “The Heart Part 4,” where K. Dot originally teased the album, he drops potential hints at dropping two albums back-to-back with the lyrics, “I said it’s like that, dropped one classic, came right back / ‘Nother classic, right back / My next album, the whole industry on a ice pack.” Dot could also be referring to his first two albums being ‘good kid, m.A.A.d. city.’ and ‘To Pimp a Butterfly’. It’s quite a mind fuck, isn’t it?

TDE producer Sounwave also tweeted a cryptic message that read, “But what if I told you… that’s not the official version..”. Check it out below.

All of this is just speculation for the time being. In the meantime enjoy the greatness that King Kendrick has blessed us with, by streaming ‘DAMN.’ below via Apple Music. Kendrick will also be performing at Coachella this weekend and next.

Future Reveals Artwork & Track List For ‘Hndrxx’ [PEEP]

600x600bb-1

Future confirmed he will be releasing another album this Friday during his #AskFuture Twitter Q&A yesterday afternoon. The now confirmed ‘Hndrxx’ album will be his second to release in consecutive weeks.

The rapper posted the full tracklist for ‘Hndrxx’, which contains a total of 17 tracks and contributions from The Weeknd on “Comin Out Strong” and Rihanna on “Selfish.”

‘Hndrxx’ was originally reported by HITS Daily Double, who reported the then rumored album was going to be “more rhythmic-leaning and radio-friendly” than the self-titled album that dropped last week. With both The Weeknd and Rihanna features, that notion is definitely confirmed.

https://www.instagram.com/p/BQ0_NJDgOEC/?taken-by=future

With the kind of star power this album will posses, I definitely see Future nabbing No. 1 album spots for two different albums in as many weeks. Something that is unprecedented.
