OVO signees, dvsn, drop their new song “Think About Me”. This marks their first release after a relatively quiet start to 2017 and since dropping their debut ‘Sept. 5th’ project.

Daniel Daley and producer Nineteen85 try to spark an old flame on the old single, with the Daley asking if he’s an afterthought or feelings still exist. Do you not think about me? / I know you still think about me,” sings Daley.

Dave Spits Bars on #Freestyle007 [WATCH]

maxresdefault

For #Freestyle007 we had to go James Bond on them by getting British rapper, Dave also known as Santan Dave straight from East London. It’s no coincidence they both hail from the U.K. and both are known to do some top secret type things.

The OVO affiliate fired off some bars over a couple instrumentals, where he talks about his different latin girls, weed, losing friends, the messages behind his music, and more. Watch the full #Freestyle007 below and just know it’s pure flames.

Drake’s ‘Views’ Goes 4x Platinum [PEEP]

drake-cover-art-breakdown

Drake’s ‘Views’ album sold over 1-million units in the first week, and it continues to reach milestones by earning a 4x platinum certification by RIAA.

It only took the album a month to reach gold and platinum certifications following its May 6th public release. On August 3rd it was announced ‘Views’ had sold over 3-million copies even though it is his worst body of work according to critics.

It’s apparent that the opinion of critics doesn’t always matter when the public’s perception says otherwise.

This year the RIAA began measuring streams in their certification program and it breaks down like this: 1,500 on-demand audio and/or video song streams = 10 track sales = 1 album sale. As we know ‘Views’ had 20 songs which may have helped.

The album was released through Republic Records, Cash Money Records, and YMCMB Records. It is Drizzy’s second album to go 4x platinum following his sophomore album ‘Take Care’ was also awarded with the certification.

It’s been an impeccable year for The 6 God as he was recently named Spotify’s “most streamed artist of 2016.” In September Apple Music awarded him with a plaque for being one of the few artists to reach over a billion streams.

‘Views’ has also made Rolling Stones’ “Top 50 Albums of 2016” and is one of six (ironically) albums to be on the Top 5 (“Top 5, Top 5, Top 5”) on the Billboard 200 for over 25 weeks.

If you think Drizzy is done reaching pinnacles and working this year think again. He will be releasing his ‘More Life’ project later this month.

A new Roy Woods song premiered on today’s episode of Beats 1 “OVO Sound Radio.” The soothing “Only You” featuring Ty Dolla $ign and 24Hrs hit the first half of the show before Drizzy dropped four new songs of his own.

Woods, who was on the road with Drake for the “Summer Sixteen Tour” has been having a pretty good year and climbing amongst the OVO roster.

French Montana – “No Shopping” Feat. Drake [VIDEO]

French Montana and El Drake take their Spanish accents to the Dominican Republic go on a “No Shopping” trip. The two kick it off on the golf course for the “OVO Sports” “Coke Boys Clasico.”

Drake rocks some flip flop sandals and a Dominican bandana, while French gets loose in an all-white Caribbean-style fit.

“No Shopping” will be on French’s upcoming ‘MC4’ album dropping August 19th.

NEW Drake – “HYPE” Remix Feat. Lil Wayne

If you thought Drake was gonna take a break from making music after releasing an album, guess again. The 6 God was featured on YG’s “Why You Always Hatin?” which premiered on OVO Sound Radio today. Oliver who was hosting the show, followed that premiere up with another one — a remix to Drake’s “Hype” featuring none other than Lil Tunechi. Good to see these two making music together again, even if they might’ve not been in the studio together when this one was recorded.

DRAKE RELEASES VIEWS
It was almost two years since Drake announced the title of his fourth studio album ‘Views’, and on Friday he finally gave fans what they had been waiting for.

The highly anticipated album is laced with 20 songs that possess that Drake and 40 combination known to warrant plaques.

‘VIEWS’ boasts features from Rihanna, Future, Pimp C, PARTYNEXTDOOR, WizKid, Popcaan and dvsn.

Jay-Z and Kanye were supposed to also be on the album for their collab on “Pop Style,” but as Drizzy told Zane Lowe during his interview samples were not clear. No biggie for Drake whom accomplished something Kanye and Jay have never done — sell over half a million on the FIRST day. Guess Drake featuring Drake gets the job done.

My must-hear 6ix songs off the album are below in no particular order:
“Controlla”
“Childs Play”
“Redemption”
“Still Here”
“Faithful” feat. Pimp C & dvsn
“Too Good” feat. Rihanna

I wasn’t too impressed with the album at first, but after numerous plays I can see why this album figures to be the album of the summer. Let me know in the comments below what your favorite songs off ‘VIEWS’ are.

Purchase it HERE.

SUMMER SIXTEEN TOUR
When Drake and Future said they were “up to something” they weren’t kidding, they truly were “not just bluffing.”

The “Jumpman” duo announced Monday they are hitting the road this summer for their Summer Sixteen tour.

This is not the first time the two have been on tour together. Drake has taken Future on the road before for both his Jungle tour and Would You Like a Tour.

Since the tour was announced a number of dates have been added including an extra show in LA at the Staples Center and another one at MSG in New York, making NY the city with the most dates with four.

Tickets for the Summer Sixteen tour went on sale this Friday on Ticketmaster, and if you’re reading this it might be too late to get tickets for select cities. GOOD LUCK!

Check out ALL the dates below:

DESIIGNER’S “PANDA” TOPS CHARTS

Freshman rapper Desiigner is doing things the guy he gets compared to has never done, as his hit-single “Panda” reached No. 1 on Billboards Hot 100 charts.

With the No.1 single, Desiigner also became the first New York City rapper since Jay-Z to be on top of the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

The 18-year-old rapper that is now signed to Kanye’s G.O.O.D. Music imprint, announced he will be dropping a mixtape and an app in the coming weeks, be on the lookout.

N.W.A. REUNION AT COACHELLA
If you’ve been on earth the past two weeks you know Coachella weekend was in full effect from everyone talking about it…WE GET IT.

Ice Cube was one of the performers at the ‘chella and had one of the best performances along with former N.W.A. members he brought out: Dr. Dre, MC Ren and DJ Yella, as well as Kendrick Lamar to put the cherry on top.

It was really a sight to see as the supergroup performed classics like: “Straight Outta Compton,” “Dopeman,” and “Fuck The Police.”

MC Ren told Rolling Stone that the whole moment was great and “”We had fun. It felt like old times. It’s been a long, long stretch.”

If you were raised on hip-hop it was a historic thing to see. Hopefully, the group will bless more stages in the near future.
