THE GAME SHARES POWERFUL SPOKEN WORD POEM

The Game has always been a major advocate for change on social issues in America. Just last week he along with Snoop Dogg and Problem led a peaceful rally in LA and met with the Mayor, Eric Garcetti and LAPD Chief, Charlie Beck in hopes of unifying LA.

This week, Game joined Power 106’s J. Cruz and Yesi Ortiz for a special edition of #KnowledgeIsPower, where he along with Nick Cannon, Dr. Abdullah, and Wendy Carrillo talked about the ongoing race issues in America and the definition of #BlackLivesMatter.

Following the conversation Game delivered a very powerful spoken word speech that he tirelessly worked on and fell asleep writing “so, it may sound unfinished at the end.” Read the lyrics to the unnamed piece below.

Game’s Spoken Word Lyrics

The problem started with our fathers being forced to sell drugs to our own people given to us by the same government that locks us away in cages. Taking black men out of the ghettos they were put in and leaving the black woman and child alone to survive in a world with little or no resources because they lack the strength instilled upon man by God who as our creator knowing which roll the male species will play in building of what we now know as the earth. We were put here to share this one race, the human race, but over time the devil in his hatred of God as caused a wedge between man and the earth or a glitch in the matrix as some would say causing a ripple in the bloodlines of Black, White, Asian, Spanish and Indian cultures causing a segregated lifestyle in which the minority, yes the minority, it being us, African-Americans has surfed the most in all areas deemed inhumane from being slaves tied in chains to slaves hung by gangs.

These gangs, the American government, and KKK are now equal to African-Americans when we roll up and pull out a KKK. But who are we pointing our guns at? Each other, our sister and our brothers, but we scared, yeah we scared to point it in the direction of others. But the white man he’ll walk in church and kill our aunties and our mothers and we just lay down in streets cold and stiff under white covers. The same covers the Klu Klux Klan wore over their over heads to do us in then we get pulled over by the police and they wonder why we got guns because you ain’t gonna shot us man.

We want to defend ourselves like Mutombo, we want to be at home reading our children Micky Mouse and Dumbo, we want pardons by Obama before he gone, so we make it home just in time for grandmothers gumbo, but it won’t happen cause even Barack don’t have the freedom that he wants. He in the white house with black skin, I’d rather be out in the front, but his daughters, beautiful young black queens, living the American dream while our daughters are on the other side of the fence getting pregnant in their teens and I do not blame our President for sh**. I blame the government for trying to ease the black man since our existence.

This fight has been fixed it is a trap, yeah it is a trap black man, set up so we can never be as rich as Bruce Wayne that only leaves us with Batman, a character in a mask that has to hide his identity. Do all the work for police killing minorities saving them time and a whole lot of energy and we got enemies, we got a lot of enemies government want to see us all in the penitentiary trying to put the slave black in a n*****. You know they’ll murder us. Look how they did John Kennedy. So black man please put the blunt down, the lean and the Hennessy. It’s time to father our future so our existence is more than just a memory.

CHANCE HONORS MOHAMMAD ALI AT ESPYS

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c3Pu-iJV0vs

Chance The Rapper flawlessly paid homage to Muhammad Ali with a real soulful tribute at the ESPN ESPY Awards. In the process, Chance also debuted a new song while Ali’s greatest moments flickered on the jumbotron.

“Ain’t nowhere greater,” he sang. “Ain’t nowhere brighter / Ain’t nowhere better / Ain’t no one prettier / Ain’t no one wiser / Ain’t no one better.”

Chance then proceeds with the touching chorus: “I was a rock/ I was a rock and roller/ Back in my day/ But now I’m just a rock/ I was a rock and roller/ Back in my day/ But now I’m just a rock/ I was a rock.”

On stage joining Lil Chano was Jamila Woods, Peter Cottontale, Teddy Jackson, Donnie Trumpet and a full choir that added depth and emotion to the performance.

See Chance’s pre-performance warm-up with NBA MVP, Steph Curry below.

Following the show he expressed his gratitude for Ali. What a great moment for Chance, whom although independent has accomplished some real big things.

RICH HOMIE QUAN BLOWS BIGGIE TRIBUTE

The best way Rich Homie Quan honored the Notorious B.I.G. last night at VH1’s Hip-Hop Honors, was not by performing “Get Money,” but by wearing a Coogi sweater and a pair of Timberland boots.

Quan hit the stage with Lil’Kim to honor Big Poppa but was better off staying on the sidelines. Not even sure why Quan was picked to honor Biggie. I can think of atleast 10 other guys who would’ve fit that bill better.

It is clear that the hip-hop world is feeling “Some Type Of Way” after watching that horrendous tribute. Check out some of the Internet’s reaction below.

D’ANGELO OUTS SWAGGY P

D’Angelo Russell is the future of the Los Angeles Lakers and figures to be a leader next season with Kobe’s retirement. Leaders usually possess maturity and are well-liked by the team they lead.

The rookie broke the ultimate guy code as he filmed teammate Nick Young on camera without Young’s consent. On the video Swaggy brags about bedding a drunk 19-year-old.

The leaked video didn’t sit well with the team as they isolated Russell the whole week.

With Russell being the Lakers’ prized rookie, he figures to be on the roster next season meaning Young will probably go. Honestly, even with Young gone I’m not sure how the team is gonna feel having a teammate like Russell leading them.

Of course the Internet was in full-effect with the memes. Check a couple out below:

https://twitter.com/LALeakers/status/716036282913173504

Things don’t look good for Russell as it seems that Young Metro don’t trust him:

One person apparently appreciated Russell’s disloyalty:

Hopefully this situation doesn’t end Nick and Iggy’s engagement.

KEHLANI BACK WITH PND?

Last time I checked Kehlani was in a relationship with Cleveland Cav’s Point Guard, Kyrie Irving, and the two seemed very happy together.

Earlier this week Kehlani’s ex, PartyNextDoor posted a picture with the R&B singer in his bed, causing complete outrage with allegations of Kehlani cheating on Irving.

There wasn’t any clarity on whether Kehlani did in fact cheat on Irving or the two were split at the time. However, the backlash from the whole situation proved to be a little too much for her to handle, as she later shared on her Instagram that she attempted suicide.

https://twitter.com/balleralert/status/714782816035274752

Suicide is no joke and it appears that Kehlani wasn’t seriously injured and happens to be in a better mental place, thankfully.

Of course the Internet shot out hilarious memes:

I don’t know who’s snapshots caused more damage PND’s or D’Angelo Russell’s. In my opinion they both should put the camera down and focus on their careers.

TIDAL AND CHILL?

Jay-Z’s TIDAL has seen a major rise in subscribers in the past couple of week’s with Kanye exclusively releasing TLOP on the streaming service.

It appears TIDAL is ready to expand from exclusively streaming music and will soon begin to stream movies, giving Netflix and Hulu a run for their money.

The service has already filed for licensing to acquire original movies with the help and efforts of music mogul, Irv Gotti.

There have been several reports that Jay will be producing a movie soon and Kanye is working on a film script with screenwriter Bret Easton Ellis, both will surely be exclusively released on TIDAL.

The movie streaming could be up and running as early as June, in time for summer ‘16.

You ready to TIDAL and chill?

BAD BOY REUNION

Puff Daddy and the Family will soon be a thing again, at least for one night as the mogul announced he will be reuniting the crew for “One Night Only,” a Bad Boy Record reunion.

The reunion will occur on Friday, May 20, at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York, in honor of the late, Notorious B.I.G.

Performers include: Jay Z, Mary J. Blige, Ma$e, 112, Lil’ Kim, the Lox, Faith Evans, French Montana, Total and Mario Winans, all performing Bad Boy classics and duets.

Big Poppa would’ve turned 44 the day after the reunion concert and inspired the reunion.

Tickets will go on sale April 2, at 11 a.m. EST on livenation.com.

HOT 97’s SUMMER JAM EXPANDING

Some real classic moments in hip-hop have happened at HOT 97’s Summer Jam since the concert’s inception.

The Emmis Communications radio station announced that it will be expanding the star-studded concert to a whole other continent.

HOT 97 has secured a multiyear license agreement with Japan’s Avex Live Creative for the concert to take place in Japan’s Zepp Tokyo venue.

Summer Jam Tokyo will happen Friday, July 29. The lineup is still to be announced but expect it to be epic!

19TH DEATH ANNIVERSARY FOR THE NOTORIOUS B.I.G.

It’s been 19-years since we lost hip-hop legend, Notorious B.I.G. to a tragic drive-by shooting.

Nearly two decades later and his killer is still at large with no signs of solving the case any time soon.

Biggie Smalls continues to inspire aspiring rappers coast-to-coast, whether it’s somebody using one of his lines or sampling one of his beats. His presence is strong in hip-hop and it is quite apparent that legends never die.

Diddy shared some unreleased footage of the late rapper on his Instagram.

Many rappers also paid their respect on Twitter:

Rest In Peace, Big Poppa!

2-PAC’S NOTEBOOKS TO BE AUCTIONED

A seller on Craigslist claims he has three notebooks which belonged to 2-Pac which he has put up for auction.

The notebooks allegedly contain handwritten lyrics, poetry, music video ideas and other notes. Along with the notebooks will be included compact discs with unreleased music.

Moments In Time, a memorabilia seller that was tasked with auctioning off Pac’s five-page letter from prison, that sold for $225-thousand will handle the auction.

Handwritten lyrics to “Keep Ya Head Up,” “Street Fame,” “Who Do You Love,” “Thugs Get Lonely Too” and others are alleged included in the notebook.

The seller claims that his father worked for Pac and that’s how he ended up with the treasures.

I hope that unreleased music eventually gets released.

50 CENT IN TROUBLE WITH BANKRUPTCY COURT

It’s a proven fact that 50 loves to stunt, he even made a song about it. However, his stunting has got him in trouble with the bankruptcy court.

A few weeks ago the Queens rapper filed for bankruptcy claiming he was “broke.” He then proceeded to post numerous pictures on his Instagram account with large amounts of cash.

The courts got wind of the pictures and demanded 50 go back to court. He claims the money in the pictures was all fake and also said his African mansion was a lie he made up.

This week he made a number of Instagram posts expressing his anger towards the courts and the system. In the process he also announced that he will no longer be running his Instagram account.

Check out his posts:

KIM K GIVES THE INTERNET…ANOTHER ONE

Kim Kardashian-West is no stranger to being naked on the Internet. In the past she’s posted half-naked photos and of course how can we forget her infamous video with Ray J.

This week she blessed the Internet with a photo baring it all in which she censored her private parts on.

In typical fashion, Kim faced scrutiny from many celebrities. Here are a couple of responses Kim got, along with her clap back:

I hope you never have anything to wear, Kim.
