Nipsey Hussle Talks “Racks In The Middle,” New Music W/ YG & Meek Mill, Grammy Nominations & More [WATCH]

Los Angeles royalty was in attendance on the Power 106 #LIFTOFF show with Justin Credible and DJ SourmilkNipsey Hussle came through to catch up with the homies and talk about his “Racks in the Middle” single, Grammy nominations, new music, and more.

Being raised and repping for the Crenshaw District, Neighbahood Nip is currently working to not only put out great music that reflects the city, but is also looking to make a difference in his community. Recently having a pop-up shop at his Marathon store-front, Hussle comments on what it means to have purchased real estate in the plaza that helped further his rap career.

“On one level it’s sentimental because we grew up right there and that’s the corner that I’m connected to. And then on another level, it’s a great business move and a great piece of real estate to own. Especially right now with what’s going on with that train; that development on Crenshaw. Just the whole area. It’s a great piece of land to own. But, then also like y’all said, it’s connected to us in a much deeper way. My first Nipsey Hussle music was tested in that parking lot, you know what I mean, on just people. And just everything else took place in that parking lot, so full circle moment, for sure.”

Jus and Milk take it a few months back when the question pops up about the moment that had social media on fire during the Lakers brawl that broke out between Rajon Rondo and Chris Paul during a heated game at the Staples Center.

“I’m like, if it’s going to be a melee break out, I just want to be ready! I don’t want to get caught slipping. Pull my pants up and see what else is happening. That’s it. I wasn’t planning no attack. I wasn’t thinking about jumping; just like, if this sh*t spill around on me, you know, I don’t know what’s going on. That’s my instinct!”

Hussle currently has major moves in the works on the music forefront and in merchandising. Being a part of the upcoming DJ Khaled album has helped the rapper develop a new strategy for future collaborations. Nip states, “I went to Miami and did a record for the ‘Father Of Ashad’ album. You know, me and Khaled, we sat and ate food with his family first, talked for like two-three hours, then he played me his album. Played me like seven videos. He got a monster project about to come out. Then he played the record for me. So you know, that order of doing it, that’s probably the new order for me when I do a collab with somebody. Let’s eat, let’s chop it, let’s have a convo, let’s vibe for a minute, then let’s do the music.” The rapper continues, “Because the record came out real personal, real close to me. I think it was just because of how we set up the session.”

With the Grammy ultimately being handed to the sensational Cardi B, Hussle comments on the moment he found out that he was nominated for the Best Rap Album category for this past Grammy Awards.

New Music: IAMSU! – “Racks In The Middle (Freestyle)” [LISTEN]

Iamsu! drops some heat as he freestyles over Nipsey Hussle‘s latest release “Racks In The Middle,” giving the track a new feel with his slightly auto-tuned vocals. In the freestyle he mentions going from being a loser to being an owner and how he shed tears the day he got out of his record deal. Suzy has obviously experienced his share of woes in the industry but it never stopped him from giving “Only That Real” (no pun intended).

New Video: Nipsey Hussle – “Racks In The Middle” Feat. Roddy Ricch & Hit-Boy [WATCH]

The Marathon continues, as the Grammy-nominated rapper and entrepreneur Nipsey Hussle releases his new video for “Racks in the Middle” featuring fellow L.A. folks Roddy Ricch and Hit-Boy.

From the start of 2019 a lot has happened for the Crenshaw veteran ranging from GQ photo shoots, Grammy nominations, and closing escrow on commercial real estate. None of that has stopped Neighbahood Nip from his original “hussle,” music.

In the video we see Nipsey Hussle and Compton youngin’ Roddy Ricch live lavishly as they show off a fleet of foreign cars. Also, featured in the video is Nipsey’s grandmother decked out in Puma gear as they occupy a private jet that is sponsored by the Puma brand. It is safe to say that Nipsey has truly earned his bragging rights to show off his “Racks in the Middle.”

Nipsey Hussle Looks To Buy Back The Block [PEEP]

Nipsey Hussle and his business partner Dave Gross have closed escrow to buy the strip mall that contains his flagship Marathon Clothing store on the corner of Slauson and Crenshaw.

It’s obvious that Neighbahood Nip wasn’t playing when he said “Just my section might throw a billi, operation buy back the 60’s” on his verse in Rick Ross’s “Buy Back The Block.” We even see that Nip stayed true to his word when he told us that he’s “closing escrow twice this month, both commercial units” on his recently-released single “Racks in the Middle” featuring Roddy Ricch.

If you know Nipsey’s story and his rise to fame, then you are aware just how significant it is for him to own this location, as he and his brother Blacc Sam were known for hustling in that same exact parking lot, getting arrested, and even owning a T-shirt store a few years back.

Nipsey has reported that he plans on knocking the plaza down to build a six-story residential building on top of the commercial plaza where a new and improved Marathon Clothing store will still be housed.

Nip’s new purchase of the Crenshaw and Slauson plaza is a great addition to his astounding collection that already includes a FatBurger restaurant and a 40 unit plaza on West Slauson.

Salute to the Grammy-Nominated rapper/entrepreneur/mogul.

Meek Mill and Drake bring all the bosses to the round table in the Kid Art-directed video for their hit collaboration “Going Bad.”

In the video you’ll find cameo appearances from T.I., Nipsey Hussle, Mustard, PNB Rock and a lot of other familiar faces. The sighting of Meek and Drake back in good spirits is good for hip-hip and it shows with this song.

The mob-themed visuals find the fellas dressed to impressed and draped in suits giving the video a spiffy appearance. It begins with Meek and Drizzy’s Rolls Royces colliding head-to-head.

New Video: Nipsey Hussle – “Double Up” Feat. Dom Kennedy & Belly [WATCH]

Nipsey Hussle made a lot of noise with his ‘Victory Lap’ album and has followed that with some impressive videos for singles off the LP. The latest to get the video treatment is my favorite song on the album, “Double Up” featuring Dom Kennedy and Belly.

Directed by Sergio, the cinematic 11-minute video takes place in 2007 before all of Nip’s major success. A younger Nip starts the video bagging weed with his aspiring apprentice, which is played by his girl, Lauren London. After a brief run-in with the law, Lauren decides she doesn’t wanna live the street life and links with Nip 10-years-later.

Their next meeting finds Lauren married to a perspective buyer of Nip’s hustle. The pair rekindles shortly after at Nipsey’s pool party, where Dom and Belly appear with a collection of women around them.

Nipsey Hussle Performs “FDT” With Kanye West “MAGA” Photo In The Background [PEEP]

During a performance of his anti-Donald Trump single “FDT” over the weekend at the Broccoli City Fest in Washington D.C., Nipsey Hussle blew up a photo of Kanye West wearing a “Make America Great Again” cap and made it his background for the performance.

The moment was pretty epic as it was in the nation’s capital and only miles away from The White House. Since coming out in 2016 the politically-charged single has made a lot of noise and sitrred up controversy with scathing lyrics about President Donald Trump Dump.

After the performance Neighbahood Nip posted a photo of the stage during the performance and shared some context with a caption that read, “Performed #FDT in Washington D.C. Picture Speaking A Thousand Words.”

YG, who collaborated with Nip on “FDT” also sent a tweet out the same day where he showed love to Ye, but kept the same stance on Trump. “KANYE WE LOVE YOU. BUT FUCK TRUMP,” he wrote in the tweet.
