To follow his ‘It’s Complicated’ EP from March, Wale continues to promote himself and Every Blue Moon imprint by releasing his new, surprise 4-track ‘Self Promotion’ project.

Folarian’s newest body of work includes his recently-released single “Negotiations,” “Body Body Body (Freestyle),” and introspective, socially-conscious joints “Salary Kaep,” which is inspired by Colin Kaepernick,” and the Mohammed Ali-inspired “Cassius (Excellency)” featuring DJ Money.

The MMG flexes his conscious bars on “Cassius (Excellency)” speaking on racial tensions and race relations. “Pro-black isn’t anti-white / But how we act like we don’t see no tiki torches at night? / Pro-black isn’t anti-white / But if a Nazi try me, catch these Ali hands on sight,” he raps.

BREAKING: Meek Mill Released From Prison [PEEP]

From #FreeMeekMill to #MeekMillFree.

After an ongoing battle with Pennsylvania courts that will continue, Meek Mill is finally free. He was jailed last November of last year for probation violations that stemmed from a 2011 sentence before the Philadelphia Supreme Court demanded he be freed.

Meek had first filed the bail petition in his probation case, which warranted 2-4 years in prison. His lawyer Joe Tacopina filed the motion to Common Pleas Judge Genece Brinkley, who rejected the request and ordered he be jailed on a 2-4 year prison sentence. While denying the bail petition Judge Brinkley went on to call Meek a “danger to the community” and a “flight risk.”

Although his bail request was finally granted and he is now, the fight will have to continue. The rapper said in a statement that, “In the meantime, I plan to work closely with my legal team to overturn this unwarranted conviction and look forward to reuniting with my family and resuming my music career.”

Upon being released and getting his phone back, Meek wrote a letter of appreciation to everyone who has been by his side like God, JAY-Z, family, Roc Nation, The Pennsylvania Supreme Court, and more.

“I’d like to thank God, my family, my friends, my attorneys, my team at Roc Nation including JAY-Z, Desiree Perez, my good friend Michael Rubin, my fans, The Pennsylvania Supreme Court, and all my public advocates for their love, support and encouragement during this difficult time,” he wrote in and IG post.

Wale Releases Surprise ‘It’s Complicated’ EP [STREAM]

Having parted ways with Atlantic Records has allowed Wale to freely release music whenever he wants. His last two releases in “Staying Power” and “All Star Break Up” were his first releases without a major label and he follows that up with a four-track EP called ‘It’s Complicated’.

Released through Rick Ross’ Maybach Music Group and his Every Blue Moon label, the EP includes only one feature from Jacquees on “Black Bonnie.” The other three songs “It’s Complicated,” “Effortless,” and “Let It Go” are solo efforts that allow him to fully exercise his talents.

In an Instagram post Wale Folarin describes ‘It’s Complicated’ as “a story about ‘a’ love life.” He goes on to say “Anybody who heart is at odds with the mind. Enjoy.”

He also hinted at a short film for the EP for “Black Bonnie” asking his fans who should play Bonnie and sharing his desire to blow his entire budget on the mini movie.

“I just wanna use my whole next budget to shoot a short film. whole thing .. who should play Bonnie tho?” he tweeted. “Who should direct it? Will they let my black ass in hollywood ? Find out on the next episode of ‘idk what I’m doin.’”

New Music: Wale – “Staying Power” [LISTEN]

Depending on who you ask, people will say that MMG rapper Wale fell off. If you ask others the DMV MC never slipped and is still one of the best in the game. Personally his new single “Staying Power” reminds everyone that he truly is a skilled rapper and a force to be reckoned with.

Using the new single as a platform to state his dominance, Wale raps, “I can out rap my opponents.” With no brashness in his voice, Wale talks his shit and wants everyone to know he should be grouped with the elite rappers in the industry.  Speeding up his flow and slowing it down in his always poetic flow over a chilling beat he definitely eats up this track.

Rick Ross Shares Meek Mill’s Next Album Title [PEEP]

Meek-Mill-Rick-Ross

During a series of motivational and uplifting videos on his SnapChat, Rick Ross revealed what Meek Mill’s third studio album will be titled and explained why it is very fitting for Meek’s situation.

“I love the name of Meek’s new album, ‘Wins & Losses’, because that’s what it’s about, n****a,” he said while preaching positivity. “You just gotta add up more wins. You’re gonna lose…But that’s why I tell y’all. Make sure y’all get it.”

It is unclear whether ‘Wins & Losses’ will come before or after ‘DC4.5’, which Meek has been relentlessly working on. The new album will follow 2015’s ‘Dreams Worth More Than Money’ and if the recent singles Meek has released are indicators of what to expect, it should be a success.

Milly is getting ready to begin his co-headlining “Against All Odds Tour” with Yo Gotti kicking off July 5th in Cleveland, Ohio. YFN Lucci and Moneybagg Yo will also be riding along for the tour.

Rockie Fresh Drops Three New Singles [LISTEN]

Screen Shot 2017-05-20 at 11.53.46 AM

Rockie Fresh is one of the most slept on rappers in the game and probably my favorite out the whole MMG camp. The hardworking Chicago rapper has been in the studio and shows off the fruits of his labor, by releasing three new singles.

The singles “Love Is War,” “You & I,” and “On the Moon” featuring fellow Chicago rapper King Louie are all solid records to warm up his forthcoming project. On the latter, Rockie teases a new project saying, “just let them know I’m dropping soon.”

Last year Rockie dropped ‘The Night I Went To…’, so you can definitely expect a new project soon! I’m all for new Rockie Fresh music! Listen to the three new singles below.

New Video: Rick Ross – “Triple Platinum” Feat. Scrilla [WATCH]

rick-ross-triple-platinum

Rick Ross shares clips from his Aruba vacation in the “unofficial” video for “Triple Platinum” featuring MMG signee Scrilla. The Slab-directed video begins with the Bawse cruising on a boat and sipping Belaire with Scrilla and DJ Sam Sneak where they enjoy the sunshine and share laughs. The day eventually turns to night as footage from Ross performing the single at the Flip Flop festival rolls.

“Triple Platinum” is off Rozay’s critically-acclaimed ‘Rather You Than Me’ album. It is the fifth single off the album to get the video treatment along with “Buy Back the Block,” “I Think She Like Me,” “Trap Trap Trap,” and “She On My Dick”.

Wale – ‘Today…I Got Time’ [LISTEN]

wale

Wale has been one of the hardest working, most-consistent artist in 2016. Earlier this year he released his mixtape ‘Summer on Sunset’ and apparently there’s more where that came from as ‘Today…I Got Time!’

The 3-track playlist is loaded with material that prove his upcoming ‘SHINE’  album is close to being ready and will be something special.

The first track “Brightseat Road Freestyle” is my favorite of the three and provides that vintage Wale sound, that is reminiscent of his ‘More About Nothing’ mixtape.

On the “Heel/Face Freestyle,” he declares war on fake bitches, takes a shot at Donald Trump, talks foreign policy, his baby mama and calls himself Malcolm X.

“Solbiato Freestyle” offers some thoughts on police brutality and racial inequalities.

Listen to all 3-tracks below.

Be on the lookout for Rockie’s album which should be coming soon under MMG.
