New Video: Kamaiyah – “Windows” Feat. Quavo & Tyga [WATCH]

Kamaiyah shows her Oakland pride in the video for her recently-released single “Windows” featuring Quavo and Tyga.

The creative video shows Lil Yaya paying homage to black culture and embracing the Black Panthers in one scene, where she stands on top of a police car while waving a fist in the air. She also pays her resepects to the late, GREAT Nipsey Hussle as she dons an airbrushed T-Shirt with his face.

“Windows” is the first single off Kamaiyah’s upcoming debut album.

Kamaiyah Drops ‘Before I Wake’ Mixtape [STREAM]

Oakland’s Kamaiyah introduced herself properly last year when she dropped her ‘A Good Night in the Ghetto’ debut project. The 4Hunnid signee follows that up with her 10-track ‘Before I Wake’ mixtape.

Containing no features, the surprise project brings that prototypical West Coast, funky, Bay Area-heavy sound. Executive production on the mixtape is handled by Link+Up.

Kamaiyah shared her journey in creating ‘Before I Wake’ on her Instagram, explaining her struggles, losing her brother to cancer, losing her way, and opting to make this project independent from her label, Interscope.

“This past year has been extremely hard for me,” she grieved. “I lost my brother to cancer and went through extreme depression. Creatively I felt trapped with my project being held up due to samples. I lost my way and decided to take initiative by recording and putting together music for my fans all on my own because I felt it was time. Thank you for everyone who has been patient, this is only the beginning.”

Kamaiyah Goes Off On Her XXL Freshman Freestyle [WATCH]

Next up on XXL’s Freshman Freestyle series is the only female rapper to grace the cover, Kamaiyah. The Oakland product delivers pretty impressive rhymes, while staying true to her Bay Area flow. In all honesty I think this might be the best one so far.

Fresh off the completion of the “Fuck Donald Trump Tour” with YG, RJ, and Sad Boy, Kamaiyah drops the visuals for “I’m On” off her debut mixtape, ‘A Good Night in the Ghetto’.

The Bay Area rapper pays homage to Will Smith’s “Fresh Prince of Bel-Air” with palm trees, a retro look, and other details that are reminiscent of the 90’s sitcom. In doing so she stays true to her soil by showing different parts of Oakland and even some footage from sideshows.

Kamaiyah is in the midst of YG’s “Fuck Donald Trump Tour” along with RJ and Sadboy. Even on the road, the Oakland rapper dropped the visuals for her single “Fuck It Up” featuring YG.

In the video the rapper sticks to her Bay Area roots as she kicks it at sideshows and cruises the streets of Oakland with her folks as she hangs out the window.

YG’s progress is evident when you see him cruising down Fairfax in a Lamborghini with Ty Dolla $ign riding shotgun in the “Why You Always Hatin’?” video.
