New Music: DJ Khaled – “Shining” Feat. Beyoncé & Jay-Z [LISTEN]

khaled-beyonce-jay-z-shining

In the midst of all the GRAMMY commotion last night, DJ Khaled surprised everyone by dropping a new single [*ANOTHER ONE*] titled “Shining” featuring power couple, Beyoncé and Jay-Z. [*ICON ALERT*]

The lively, inspirational single, co-written by PARTYNEXTDOOR, has Bey singing about her blessings and winning streaks from music to her pregnancy. Jay follows Yonceé by spitting gasoline and emptying his subliminal clip, which many thought were shots at Drake.

“I’ve been winnin’ so long it’s like alchemy / I’ve been playin’ cards with the house money / 21 Grammys, I’m a savage n***a / 21 Grammys, I’m a savage n***a / I shouldn’t even worry, backward n***s
12 solo albums, all Platinum, n***a,” raps Hov and goes on with, “I know you ain’t out here talkin’ numbers, right / I know you ain’t out here talkin’ summers, right / I know you ain’t walkin’ ’round talkin’ down / Sayin’ boss shit when you a runner, right?.”

The bars in my opinion were a direct response to both Drake’s singles “Summer Sixteen” and “Sneakin” featuring 21 Savage. Let me know what you took from it in the comments below. Many fans are questioning PARTNEXTDOOR’s loyalty with the writing credit, but he worked only on Beyoncé’s part and not Jay’s.

“Shining” is the first single off Khaled’s 10th album ‘Grateful’, which shows his son Ashad on the cover. Khaled announced Ashad will executive produce the upcoming album.

New Music: French Montana – “Lockjaw” (Remix) Feat. Kodak Black, Jeezy, Rick Ross & DJ Khaled [LISTEN]

french-montana-lock-jaw-remix

French Montana’s “Lockjaw” recently earned a gold certification by the RIAA. To celebrate the accomplishment, Montana released a remix featuring Kodak Black, who was on the original, Jeezy, Rick Ross, and DJ Khaled.

“Lockjaw” was one of Montana’s hit singles along with “No Shopping” featuring Drake, off his cancelled ‘MC4’ album. Back in July a remix featuring Gucci Mane surfaced but didn’t make as much noise as this one. Listen below.

DJ Khaled Takes Son Asahd On “The View” [WATCH]

asahd-khaled-view

Major show alert!

DJ Khaled took his special cloth talk and baby, Asahd to make his television debut on “The View.” Baby Asahd isn’t a stranger to cameras, Khaled broadcasted his birth on SnapChat if you recall.

One of the topics the SnapChat Don Dada spoke about was broadcasting his first born’s birth on SnapChat saying, “I did it to put love in the universe. It’s a life! The whole time, on Snapchat, I was sharing the pregnancy, the belly, talking to my son. I do a lot of things to inspire myself too. I brought love out.”

Khaled also admitted that his fiancée, Nicole Tuck isn’t a fan of his whole SnapChat persona, which shouldn’t be surprising seeing how she hassles him whenever he points his camera towards her. Khaled speaks about his solution to fix the problem.

When asked if he would give the keys to the new president (Trump), Khaled responded by saying, “the key is love for any leader.”

Beyonce Closes the “Formation Tour” Finale In A Major Way

beyonce-jay-z-formation-tour

Beyonce had arguably the best tours of the year with her “Formation Tour.” Last night was the culmination of the tour after a total of 49 shows in the US and Europe.

To say she ended her last show with a bang is an understatement, considering the names she brought out to join her on stage at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey.

Bey brought out her hubby Jay-Z, Kendrick Lamar, and Serena Williams, while DJ Khaled brought out Ma$e, T.I., The Lox, Ja Rule, Fetty Wap, Young M.A., August Alsina, Remy Ma, and A Boogie.

Watch Bey and Jay gracing the stage performing “Drunk In Love” in the video below.

Another dope sight to see was the reunion of Jay-Z, DMX, and Ja Rule. Earlier in their careers the trio toured together on the “Hard Knock Life Tour” in 1999. They also were part of a supergroup, that was short-lived.

Murder…

What a great moment for hip-hop fans!

Before ending the show, Beyonce paused her set to show the fans appreciation for the support throughout her career.

“I have so much energy because of you guys feeding it to me,” she exclaimed. “I really wanted to make this show special…This is definitely my dream right here. I dreamt that I would be doing this and I’m actually doing it, and I could not be here without you and your support.”

Oh, what a night.

First things first. B’s boots are insanely dope. Lol. Next thing… Follow my snap: Kodaklens. Lol The Final day of the Formation World Tour was nothing short of Epic. The Jay, X and Ja reunion.. Wow. New artist like A Boogie & Young M. A. came through and blessed us. Not to mention Ma$e, DJ Mustard & Fetty Wop joined us for the 1st time as well and killed it. Thanks to The LOX too. This pic may seem random but the people in it are certainly not. It happened right before we exited MetLife stadium at 1am or something still on a high from the show. The artist in this pic like T.I., Remy and August came to several shows, held us down and performed just for the love. As did all the others. You can’t buy that. The We The Best Team including Justin from Roc is in here as well who held Khaled down. DJ Nasty kept it together on the turntables even though we never followed the show script. Lol. Ivan for capturing the historic moments. Terrel & Smokes kept Khaled fresh to death. My brother, Jay, who we can’t thank enough for standing on the side of the stage for every show and coached Khaled & I through the performances. He also took a pic with EVERY guest artist that came through. Lol. Applaud him for that. Steve Pamon, Melissa & Larry from Parkwood for making sure we were good!!!! Anyway, I’m not tryin to do any long dumb thank you speech. It’s important for me to point out and thank those who work hard and deserve it. They often aren’t acknowledged or applauded cause they’re behind the scenes. Khaled, they said we couldn’t do it. We showed them better than we could tell them. Kiko, I’m sick you not in this. I feel like I just came off a Michael Jackson tour. Lol. Beyonce is 1 of the greatest to ever do it.. Ever! Love you, B. Thanks!!! #TheFormationWorldTour #Beyonce #DJKhaled #WeTheBest #RocNation #Parkwood #Lemonade 📷 captured by @andrewwhitey

The star-studded “Do You Mind” featuring Nicki Minaj, Chris Brown, Future, August Alsina, Jeremih, and Rick Ross is off Khaled’s chart-topping ‘Major Key’ album.

We The Best Music’s Kent Jones drops his ‘Too Much Too Soon’ mixtape.

The title is very fitting for Jones’ career, whom in a short period of time has accomplished a lot. His song “Don’t Mind” went No. 1 on iTunes, he was featured on DJ Khaled’s first No. 1 album ‘Major Key’, and he’s been catching a lot of steam in the industry.

The mixtape debuted on DJ Khaled’s “We The Best Radio” on Apple Music’s Beats1 and played in its entirety. It contains 20 songs with features from Ty Dolla $ign, K Camp, Yo Gotti, Lil Dickey and the OG E-40. There’s is also a huge chunk of Jones’ production on the mixtape.

DJ Khaled – “Nas Album Done” Feat. Nas [VIDEO]

Nas Album Done. That’s a major key.

DJ Khaled took his winning ways to the Bahamas to co-direct the cinematic video for “Nas Album Done” along with Eif Rivera.

The over 8-minute video for the song features Nas and is reminiscent of Hype Williams’ ’98 film “Belly” which also starred the God Son.

In the video you see both Nas and Khaled spreading irie vibes with Carnival dancers, lively outfits, cigar smoke and a lot of champagne and Ciroc.

“Nas Album Done” is the second video off Khaled’s first No. 1 album ‘Major Key.’

Justin Credible’s Album Spotlight: DJ Khaled – ‘Major Key’

image1

The past couple months DJ Khaled has been winning and using the power of Snapchat to transform himself into a megastar while promoting his latest album, ‘Major Key.’  That move proved to be a smart one as the hype has naturally continued. Liners like “did the Drake vocals get in yet?” and “you know everything is top secret” have become day-to-day language for all of us. Khaled teased the features on the album by asking his engineer Juan if the vocals were in yet. After all the top secret vocals came in, they combined to create magic for the self-proclaimed “King of the Anthems.”

The features on the album combine old school names like Jay-Z and Nas with new school superstars like Drake, Kendrick Lamar, J. Cole, Nicki Minaj, Future and Big Sean. The combination of features shouldn’t surprise you as Khaled is known to combine artists you would never expect to be on a track together. His past records like “All I Do Is Win” featuring Rick Ross, Ludacris, Snoop Dogg and T-Pain are proof Khaled has in A&Ring records.

Khaled kicks off the album with a rare pairing of Jay-Z and Future on “I Got The Keys.” On the song Jay, which is one of my favorite rappers go retro with it as he swags out with tenacious wittiness. Many people say Hov is taking some jabs at Drake on the song and responding to “Summer Sixteen.” The bars are definitely on point and it’s exciting to see Jay dropping new material. Khaled broke down how he got Hov on the track with The Rap Radar Podcast.

“I play him the record and I’m vibing, you know, I got that eye so I’m looking to the side, I don’t want him to know I’m looking, and I see him vibing,” He told Elliot Wilson and B-Dot. “The first part is an instrumental so that’s when I’m really looking because, the great ones, that’s when they really just start going so I look and I just see him start rhyming in his head and mumbling…when the beat stopped, he’s just like, ‘Leave that for me.’”

Future comes on the song and adds that southern trap hook he’s notoriously known for.

One of my personal favorite songs on the album is “For Free” which features Drake. The funky guitar on the production make for a fun-filled track perfect for radio and clubs. Every collaboration between these two from “I’m On One” to “No New Friends” to “Fed Up,” have turned into hits. All vibes.

On “Nas Album Done,” the legend himself, Nas, spits fire bars over a sample of The Fugee’s “Fu-Gee-La.” Nas uses Khaled’s “Special Cloth Talk” lingo on the hook and drops a powerful line on his second verse where he says, “Khaled called me while I was in album mode, so I put it on hold for the ‘Major Key’/My albums done ni**as wait and see.” The line put the Internet in a frenzy as Nas’ album tease was enough for fans to start making up release dates.

Khaled gets J. Cole on the record “Jermaine’s Interlude,” which is interesting being that Cole hasn’t really dropped any material this year. Cole uses the soulful song to discuss his pain, hardships, struggles with record labels and never giving up. Ironically enough he mentions contemplating retirement, which had fans in a total uproar on Twitter.

Being on the radio everynight, I always pay close attention to songs that I can play on the Power 106 LIFTOFF. Both “Do You Mind” featuring Nicki Minaj, Chris Brown, August Alsina, Jeremih, Future & Rick Ross and “Ima Be Alright” featuring Bryson Tiller & Future I can see being in rotation every night. The songs fit all the aesthetics that radio listeners look for, which are: star power, nice melodies and catchy hooks.

Khaled clearly has the anthem-making formula down to a science. He teams the hottest artists with the hottest producers in the game and puts those top secret vocals to use over the sickest beats. Be sure to cop my brother DJ Khaled’s eighth studio album, ‘Major Key’ on iTunes right now!
