Justin Credible’s Album Spotlight: Rick Ross – Black Market

unnamed-1

Album Spotlight time. This time, I had to give my two cents and shine some light on my brotha Rozay’s new album.

Arguably one of the biggest faces in hip-hop, Rick Ross released his latest album titled “Black Market” just in time for the holidays.

Black Market comes in the form of an official album and serves as a follow-up to September’s Black Dollar mixtape. However, his most recent release prior to Black Market was the Renzel Remixes, which were a collection of remixes & freestyles that I love listening to in the whip and playing in the clubs.

For most rappers in the game, dropping three projects in one year seems crazy, because, well, what else is there left to rap about, right? But not for Rozay!

2015 continues to be an eventful year right until the end. In an interview last month, Ross described Black Market as “a personal album.” Topically, he addresses a wide range of subjects including his work as a lyrical ghostwriter, as well a wide amount of disses aimed at figures across the music business.

The album comes with 17 tracks and has a few solid features from heavyweights like Future, John Legend and Nas, among others.

A few of my favorite songs off the album are Black Opium, which features “Preemo” (Dj Premier). The song is soulful and Ross comes with the smooth flow that we all enjoy hearing from him.

Speaking of smooth flow, He has a joint with Mary J Blige on the album titled “Very Best”. Mary J. Blige on the chorus, you can never go wrong.

Love all the features on this album from John Legend to Mariah Carey, personally I think Ross is at his best when he is solo on a track. His longer, more detailed verses have become very strong!

This “Black Market” album is a good album from top to bottom. Go grab “Black Market” on ITunes and listen for yourself. If you heard it already, let me know what your thoughts on the album are.
