New Music: Big Sean – “Overtime” [LISTEN]

Simply put, Big Sean is back and refocused with his eye on rap’s throne with a new single entitled, “Overtime.”

Over Hit-Boy’s thumping bass and sparkling keys, Sean unleashes blistering bars at a furious pace, name dropping Wesley Snipes among others in a track with no hook, and no need for one. Midway through the song, the Detroit wordsmith spits, “Mixtape Sean, but I’m in album mode.” If this is a preview…. oh boy!

Detroit rapper Icewear Vezzo comes through with a tough tune that features fellow Motor City spitter, Big Sean. The two Detroit natives team up for a banger titled “Balance” that delivers unbreakable base hits and some amplified treble.

We have not heard much from Big Sean since his verse on YG’s 2018 summer hit “Big Bank,” but we quickly catch that Sean has not lost a step in his flow as he effortlessly weaves in-and-out of the beat with witty word play. New Music: Mike WiLL Made-It – “Aries (YUGO) Pt. 2” Feat. Pharrell, Big Sean, Rae Sremmurd & Quavo [LISTEN]

Being an Aries I really enjoyed Mike WiLL Made-It’s ‘Ransom 2’ single “Aries (YUGO)” from last year. The Ear Drummer CEO returns this Aries season with the sequel that features a star-studded cast of Pharrell, Big Sean, Rae Sremmurd, and Quavo.

“Originally, I just wanted to put on all Aries on there you know because the songs called ‘Aries’ and Pharrell’s an Aries, so I put Quavo on there, I put Big Sean on there. But Swae always loved that beat, so he was like, ‘Bro, you gotta let me get on there.’ I can’t turn down a Swae Lee verse. Then Slim Jxm heard that and was like, ‘I can hop on there?’ And I cant turn down no Slim Jim verse and they both killed it. They the only two on there that’s not Aries so we just changed the meaning for Aries,” explained Mike WiLL about putting Swae Lee and Slim Jxmmi on the song even though they aren’t Aries.

Big Sean Postpones His “Unfriendly Reminder Tour” [PEEP]

Fans of Big Sean are disappointed to know the G.O.O.D. Music rapper is postponing his upcoming “Unfriendly Reminder Tour.” The now-postponed tour created a lot of hype with fans being able to help create and curate the set list by voting for songs on his website.

Sean was aligned to make his first stop at the CFE Arena in Orlando and go-on to make stops in major parts of North America

In an apologetic tone, Sean Don issued an apology letter to his fans writing:

“To all my fans: I’ve been in a deep creative space and decided I need to stay focused in the studio – so, unfortunately, I am postponing my upcoming tour.” When you’re in the groove you’re in the groove and we all have something we do & love that allows us to enter a state where everything just flows. “I learned in life you have to follow your intuition – I hope you do the same. Thank you for your continued love and support. It means the world to me. Trust, we are working on something special for you all.”

– Big Sean

Last year Sean delivered his critically-acclaimed ‘I Decided’ album and his collaborative ‘Double Or Nothing’ project with Metro Boomin’. On the bright side, the cancellation only means we should be getting some new material from Sean soon.
