The Late, Great Nipsey Hussle To Be Honored With A Humanitarian Award At The BET Awards [PEEP]

Long Live Nip!

It’s still unreal that Nipsey Hussle is no longer with us and every time I think about him it’s surreal. During his time on Earth, Nip did a lot of positive things along with putting out great music. BET Networks will be honoring Nip for his work with a Humanitarian Award at the 2019 BET Awards.

Neighborhood Nip was a activist, philanthropist, businessman, an overall man of the people, and a lot more. His work will be posthumously honored, after he dedicated years to working to uplift his South Los Angeles community.

“As a prolific artist and leader, Nipsey Hussle was zealous about driving change for the betterment of his community, empowering and employing those in need and being an influential and highly respected leader,” said Connie Orlando, Executive Vice-President, Head of Programming at BET. “We are forever grateful, humbled and honored to have experienced his presence and we are invested in doing our part to ensure that the marathon will indeed continue. It is an immense honor for us to recognize him with this year’s Humanitarian Award.”

Previous Humanitarian Award recipients include Chance the Rapper, Denzel Washington, Al Sharpton, Steve Harvey, and Dwyane Wade.

The 2019 BET Awards will air live from Los Angeles on Sunday, June 23rd at 8 p.m. EST. They will be hosted by Regina Hall and include performances from Cardi B, Migos, Mustard, H.E.R., Lil Nas X, and more.
