Bay Area Rapper Caleborate Gets Personal On ‘Real Person’ [STREAM]

caleborate-real-person

The Bay Area’s Caleborate has been putting in the hours it takes to be great. Although he is still very much slept-on, he is one of the few rappers out here spitting with the confidence of an ’09 J. Cole. Caleborate looks to take his career to the next level with the release of his new, personal project, ‘Real Person’.

Over 10-tracks the Berkeley rapper freely flows over dope production from Lege Kale, Drew Banga, Adrian Per, Ian McKee, and others. For features he calls on fellow Bay Area artist, 1-O.A.K., Donte Thomas, and MVCK.

‘Real Person’ follows last year solid offering, ‘1993’.

Giggs Looks To Silence The Haters With ‘Wamp 2 Dem’ Mixtape [STREAM]

bf63873f8c0e659f7617f867c17f45fb.640x640x1

Critics were badmouthing Giggs for his verse on Drake’s ‘More Life’ single, “KMT (Kiss Mi Teeth),” saying the song would’ve been better served without him on it. The British rapper is literally kissing his teeth and silencing the haters with his new mixtape, ‘Wamp 2 Dem’.

Being a Drake affiliate has surely raised his plateau and range of artists he collaborates with. On the 13-track ‘Wamp 2 Dem’, Giggs hooks up with 2 Chainz on “Ultimate Gangsta,” Young Thug and Lil Duke on “Gangstas & Dancers,” Popcaan on “Times Tickin,” Dave on “Peligro,” and more.

Belly Releases New Project ‘Mumble Rap’ Produced By Boi1da [STREAM]

Belly-Mumble-Rap

Since Belly spit his infamous #Freestyle004 for us, hip-hop enthusiasts have been patentiely waiting to hear some new material from the XO rapper. Uniting with OVO affiliate, Boi1da, Belly releases his new project, ‘Mumble Rap’.

The 11-track project is entirely produced by Boi1da and the title is quite ironic, given Belly really doesn’t mumble and instead fires off clear, ferocious bars that will have you bopping your head the whole time you listen.

With only one feature from Pusha T over the 11 songs, Belly finds himself scorching heavy bars throughout.

“Uh, look, immigration to the trap/Generations to adapt/Life sentence in my lap, now vacations overlap/Still I’m pacin’, won’t relax/Invitations to relapse/Inspiration through the raps/Watch what I say on the track/Statute of limitation on my back/Investigations comin’ up, interrogations never crack,” he raps on the album’s opener, “Immigration to the Trap.”

This marks the first full-length release for Belly since last year’s ‘InZombia’ mixtape that spawned “Might Not” featuring The Weeknd.

Who’s Dropping: New Project Releases In October [PEEP]

unnamed (1)

October is known to bring some thrills and for those thrill-seekers, it will definitely happen in the form of music. We already have some official release dates from Gucci Mane, Ty Dolla $ign, The Wu-Tang Clan, Hustle Gang, and others.

Drake’s OVO will also look to do what A$AP Mob did in August with their AWGEST takeover, where they released a total of three projects. As of now OVO’s Majid Jordan and dvsn are all but ready to share their latest body of work, but perhaps we can also get PARTYNEXTDOOR’s ‘Club Atlantis’ album, or a surprise project from Drizzy himself.

For now let’s focus on the projects that are sealed, delivered, and coming out this month, given no delays.

caleborate real person

CALEBORATE – ‘REAL PERSON’ (10/6)

I’ve been a big fan of Bay Area rapper, Caleborate for a while now. While he is still very much slept-on and underground to a certain extent, he is one of the few rappers that still spit like J. Cole in his mixtape days, and you can hear it in his confident raps. This Friday Caleborate will release his ‘Real Person’ project. I premiered the lead single “Soul” on here and you definitely expect fire from front-to-back.

Dame Dolla

DAME DOLLA – ‘CONFIRMED’ (10/6)

Dame Dolla a.k.a. Damian Lillard has already accomplished his hoop dream and leads a successful NBA career as at Top 5 point guard in the league. That’s not enough for the Oakland rapper, who has some things to get off his chest and will do it with his second project, ‘Confirmed’, dropping this Friday.

gucci-mane-mr-davis

GUCCI MANE – ‘MR. DAVIS’ (10/13 OR 10/17)

October translates to “Woptober” for GuWop, who will deliver yet another project in ‘Mr. Davis’. Gucci’s second album this year was originally supposed to drop last month, but some delays have pushed it back. The delay might actually be a marketing tool for GuWop, who is supposed to drop Friday the 13th, but would be a marketing genius if he released it on 10/17. For now expect it the 13th, but don’t be surprised if it gets delayed again for a few days.

wu-tang-saga-continues

WU-TANG CLAN – ‘THE SAGA CONTINUES’ (10/13)

The Wu is back! I can still remember Wu-Tang dominating the ’90s with their deadly rhymes and production from RZA and Mathematics. Perhaps the group can do the same in this day and age of “mumble rap.” The Wu will release ‘The Saga Continues’ on Friday, October 13th. Hold your head.

dvsn-Morning-After-Album

dvsn – ‘THE MORNING AFTER’ (10/13)

A$AP Mob’s AWGEST takeover was a genius scheme. If OVO can replicate that on another level it will do that and shut critics up who say Drake is the only one who shines on the label. If so, it will start with dvsn’s long-awaited ‘The Morning After’ album.

Hustle-Gang-We-Want-Smoke

HUSTLE GANG – ‘WE WANT SMOKE’ (10/13)

“Hustle Gang over everything,” or at least that’s what T.I. hopes will happen on that busy Friday the 13th, where a lot of projects will be competing for that top spot. Anyhow, a collaborative Hustle Gang project has been in the works for some time now, and we will finally get it.

blu-exile-back-to-basics

BLU & EXILE – ‘IN THE BEGINNING BEFORE THE HEAVENS’ (10/20)

It was 10-years-ago that Blu & Exile released their confident, swift ‘Below The Heavens’ project, which embraced the classic West Coast sound. Staying underground, the duo will attempt to do the same with ‘In The Beginning: Before The Heavens’ on October 20th.

stalley

STALLEY – ‘ANOTHER LEVEL’ (10/20)

Since leaving MMG, we haven’t hear much from Cleveland spitter, Stalley. That’s all going to change when he drops his ‘Another Level’ album on October 20th.

BH3 TY

TY DOLLA $IGN – ‘BEACH HOUSE 3’ (10/27)

Every Ty Dolla $ign ‘Beach House’ EP to date has been an absolute vibe. Naturally, there’s been a lot of anticipation swirling around the fourth installment of Ty’s mixtape series. This time around Ty is turning the mixtape into an album, and he is ready to share with the world on October 27th. So far every single we’ve heard proves it will not disappoint.

majid jordan

MAJID JORDAN – ‘THE SPACE BETWEEN’ (10/27)

Majid Jordan aren’t the only OVO acts releasing a new project this month. Staying true to the “October’s Very Own” mantra, the duo will drop their sophomore studio album, ‘The Space Between’ on Friday, October 27th.

freddy vs jason

FABOLOUS & JADAKISS – ‘FREDDY VS. JASON’ (10/27)

We’ve been waiting on Fabolous and Jadakiss’ collaborative ‘Freddy Vs. Jason’ project for a while now. The project was originally teased early last year, but there’s been no official release date for it. With a horror movie theme, the time is now to release this suspenseful mixtape, that is sure to bring them grimy, raw, rugged bars.

partynextdoor-beats-1

PARTNEXTDOOR – ‘CLUB ATLANTIS’ (TBD)

PARTYNEXTDOOR, who released a mixtape last week and has been dropping a lot of music in the past couple weeks should release his ‘Club Atlantis’ album sometime this month, to stay true to that OVO mantra. It’s not likely he will, especially given how he’s stressed his audience with so much new music, but it would be a hell of a marketing scheme for the OVO team. Stay tuned.

As always thanks for checking “Who’s Dropping” out. Check back for new releases as they unfold and other updates.

A couple months ago Luda dropped “Vitamin D” featuring Ty Dolla $ign and now he returns with the follow-up, “Vice.” With so much negativity in the world, Luda takes a moment to praise all the things he loves like women and marijuana.
