meek-mill-wins-losses

For Meek Mill the past couple years haven’t been the easiest. He’s taken a fair amount of losses from losing his artist and lil homie, Snupe to being humiliated on the Internet for his beef with Drake, and breaking up with Nicki Minaj. Meek has also celebrated wins and on his new album ‘Wins & Losses’ he puts both sides in perspective.

On his third studio album, which he considers his fourth, Meek tackles every topic that has surrounded him. Over 17-tracks, the MMG spitter breaks down his ups and downs, while reintroducing himself as a new person that his trials and tribulations have created.

Meek calls on some heavyweights for features on the album, which include Chris Brown and Ty Dolla $ign on “Whatever You Need,” Rick Ross and Yo Gotti on “Connect the Dots,” Young Thug on “We Ball,” Lil Uzi Vert on “F**k That Check Up,”and more.

This week Meek has been releasing parts of a short film leading up to the album, that tell the story of a man losing his brother. Watch here.

New Music: A-Trak – “Believe” Feat. Quavo & Lil Yachty [LISTEN]

unnamed

A-Trak has spent a majority of his week teasing his new single “Believe” featuring Quavo and Lil Yachty. It started a few days ago with the superstar DJ/Producer singing along to the track with cutouts of the collaborators.

“Believe” has a nice structured sound and the production sounds like it was crafted for Quavo and Yachty from the beginning. French Montana and Swae Lee already have a summer anthem with “Unforgettable” and DJ Khaled has shot his shot with the Rihanna and Bryson Tiller-assisted “Wild Thoughts.” Perhaps this is the next song to make this an even hotter summer.

On a call from Ibiza, A-Trak told Beats1 in a phone interview how the song came about.

“[We] recorded the song hanging out,” he said. “I wanted that to come through in the vibe of the song, that this is a hangout thing, having fun. Even the way that they’re trading lines back and forth. To me, it reminds me of the way that Jadakiss and Styles P used to do it. People don’t do that enough anymore, just trading bars.”

On Tyga’s “Move to L.A.” featuring Ty Dolla $ign, he pays homage to Bad Boy with the Ma$e-inspired hook, that takes inspiration from the Ma$e and Total’s collaborative “What You Want” single off 1997’s ‘Harlem World’.

Staying with the Bad Boy theme, Tyga and Ty Dolla $ign go all out Harlem World in the video for “Move to L.A.” Their wardrobe pays homage to Puff Daddy and Ma$e’s outfit in The Notorious B.I.G.’s “Mo Money Mo Problems” video. Tyga and Dolla $ign rock similar yellow track suits along with goggles as they defy gravity and go aerial.

T-Raww’s ‘Bitch I’m the Shit 2’ will drop later tonight and include features from Kanye West, Pusha-T, Vince Staples, Young Thug, and Quavo, along with Ty Dolla $ign.

New Music: Tyler, The Creator – “Ain’t Got Time” [LISTEN]

936c4ae6597dead6e72f7984e084a629.890x890x1

Many of you may have already heard this song as Tyler, The Creator’s entire forthcoming ‘Scum Fuck Flower Boy’ album was leaked on the Internet ahead of its Friday release date. The entire album possess that raw quality Tyler material, but “Ain’t Got Time” is definitely one of the standouts.

On the track Tyler spits provocative lyrics and alludes to being homosexual rapping, “Next line, I’ll have em’ like woah / I’ve been kissing white boys since 2004.” The Internet went into a frenzy when fans heard the line and controversy has since followed.

Tyler has said the track’s production is a combination of J Dilla’s “One Time” and “Introduction” by Bel-Sha-Zaar, which has been sampled in the past by Deee-Lite on “Groove Is in the Heart.” The original instrumental was made during Kanye West’s ‘The Life of Pablo’ sessions and expected to be on the album.

Although the singles contains no features, Tyler was lobbying for Nicki Minaj to jump on it and feels she played him.

“I wanted Nicki Minaj on that shit so fucking bad,” he explained. “You have no idea. I reached out to her so many times. Tried to get her number. She couldn’t think of nothing. She said, ‘I couldn’t think of nothing.’ That’s what they relayed. I’m like, ‘How the fuck you hear this beat and can’t think of shit? Stop that shit. Stop playing.’ I’m like, ‘Nicki playing me right now.’”
