Young bosses.
Philly MC Gilbere Forte delivered an impressive visual for his single “PRAY,” earlier today. The Fiona Apple-sampled beat provided a soundtrack for the worldly backdrops shown in the Qarim Brown & Gilbere Forte-directed video. Dope video and track, kinda reminiscent of Kanye West’s “Power.” Wait, that’s not all. The video also serves as the prescursor to his upcoming short-film, due 2013. If the short-film is as visually pleasing as the video, it’ll be worth the wait.

I’m subscribed to The Theorist on YouTube because I’m a fan of his contemporary piano covers of songs that I actually like and he just posted his latest cover of a song we know quite well. Watch the keyboard guru perform a cover of Kendrick Lamar’s “Swimming Pools (Drank)” in the visual above.
Chuck Inglish and Benny Cassette met once upon a time at their Jewish jeweler’s wedding (cool fact, in case you were itching to know), vibed and decided to work on some new music together. Blending hip-hop, soul, rock and pop, the two crafted “Angel Dust,” an EP produced by Chuck with assistance from Benny and performed by Benny with features from Chuck. If you’re looking for something different to bless your ears with definitely check out Benny Cassette’s tape with one of my personal favorite producers, Chuck Inglish. Chuck’s also dropping his solo debut album, Convertibles, soon so be on the lookout for that.
You can find cool stuff like the stream and download link, after the jump.

For the end of the first week of his debut album, Kendrick Lamar is shootin’ up the charts in his latest leak, produced by J. Cole and Canei Finch, titled “The Jig Is Up (Dump’n).” Could this be the start of the Cole and Kendrick project? Has the ball finally started to roll? Let’s hope so. Congrats to Kendrick Lamar and TDE on debuting at #2 on the Billboard charts! The final first week sales numbers via Soundscan will be in tomorrow but for now he’s over 242k.
